  • How could someone dislike this. I'm leaving for Tibet right now. Selling the I-pod ad X-box, 65" Plasma and Lotus and I am going to wear a diaper until I fill it with the waste of humanity. Then and only then will true enlightenment take place.

  • truly beautiful and mindblowing...homage to all practitioners of gchod..

  • hahaha 'chod practice' thats kinda funny like

  • thank you

  • Demons and Gods (different in Buddhism than Christianity) are only a small part of Chod, but they are a part of it. The participant visualizes leaving their body, becoming a deity, then chopping the old body up, transforming it into nectar, and offering it to Hungry Ghosts, to ease the people in hell, etc.

The main point of this practice is renunciation of attachment to one's self... one of the core teachings of Buddhism.

It sounds odd to Westerners, until you realize what a crucifix is.

  • From my understanding, the practice of Chod is to REMOVE all belief in demons, spirits, Gods, etc. So to do this one sometimes goes to a cemetery alone at night and practice this ritual, inviting the demons, spirits, etc into their space so they can be banished from the human psyche once and for all, so the devotee can go on to enlightenment. The belief is the "psychological demons" are the cause of delusion that keeps the devotee from reaching enlightenment.

  • Sources describe this practice as if the adept is offering the flesh of his body to be cut to pieces and devoured by the gods, demons and wild animals. The ritual reminds the initiation of a shaman though the attributed meaning is different (as stated above). This particular type of meditation is believed to be extremely mentaly challenging and can be dangerous if not handled appropriately.

The founder of the practice of Chöd was Machig Labdrön, the consort of Padampa Sangye.

  • I really dont know anything about this but if thats the case of what you say would that mean at that very moment in the video they are doing exactly what you described
