It doesn't take any "hall of fame" to know that in the English speaking world, A large percentage have heard and enjoyed Neil's music. My guess is Neil is A trend setter, and not A trend follower." Who cares what the other guy does,..I ain't him! Besides, what I'm doing is cool" Then some Chump Magazine tries to tell you it ain't cool unless they say it is. Well, Time will tell, and it has! Watched Neil Diamond last night on BBC2 - he not only looks fantastic for his age (70), he sings just as good as he has always done - not many musicians can do that! He is a legend!! This one of my favourite songs of all times.

Thank you shilo901 for your clarification. I totally agree with your comment. You are absolutely correct to say that Neil Diamond does not need endorsement from the Rolling Stone magazine. His music will live on forever whether he gets into R&R HoF or not.

Why on earth is Neil Diamond not inducted in either Rock & Roll or Songwriters Hall of Fame ? He is without a doubt one of the greatest songwriters/performers in the world.

@kaladist Very simple...politics!. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is controlled by the editors of Rolling Stone magazine...they only like a certain kind of music and, of course, artists that suck up to them. There are other noteworthy artists that are not there, i.e. KISS, RUSH, etc. Don't worry about Neil, he is a legend and has his own Hall of Fame. In fact, I think Neil is bigger than and therefore doesn't need the RRHoF.
