Boy right at the end there it sounded like he was on the verge of tears. Who wouldn't be. And he's right... musically without him... the band would not have been what it was. Thank you Richard. Kept me interested and focused musically as a musician as well. I too wish I could have seen him... all of them in concert. Rest in peace. And no... no guitarist is God or any derivation thereof. Just musicians doing what they know best... most of them anyway.
I'm sorry for you. I got to see them when I was 14. I'm 30 now. It was one of the most important times in my life!! It was their last tour in the U.S..
I couldn't agree anymore with you! I'm 17, and yes, I wanted to see Floyd live too......that can no longer happen. :( *cries* R_I_E_P Richard William Wright!!!! 1943-2008 R_I_E_P Roger Keith' "Syd" Barrett 1946-2006
. .he was right on the verge all through the thing . . I think he did at the end as he was walking off. He really loved his friend and he helped make the final years of his life very pleasant. G-d bless David for his love.
I completely agree with you - I'm appalled that Glastonbury turned down the legendary Pink Floyd and especially for some moron like Jay Z. I have been going to Glasto for years with friends and last year was the first time we didn't go - because this idiot was headlining and so now when I find that they were offered Gilmore and Wright - unbelieveable!!
Why David Gilmour and the late Rick Wright got rejected from Glastonbury for some thug punk rapper like Jay Z I won't ever know. To turn down a person's last request like how that douchebag Mike Eavis did to David and Rick is sickening. I hope Rick's spirit haunts that Butthead Beavis Eavis for the rest of his days. Musical discrimination at its worst. Rejecting talent for some scum who glorifies money, guns, degrading women and smoking big fat cigars is worse than dumb, it's BULLSHIT!
totally agree mate, they knocked them back because apparently they dont appeal to the younger audience. Maybe thats true who knows, but id rather see a guitar god from one of the biggest bands of all time perform than some thug rapper talk through a mic about sex and drugs because he cant play a fucking instrument.
The only thing PF did wrong, they were to shortly on Earth, we need more of them, more albums and more songs.

I've seen this a few times now and I find it incredibly moving.
The man is a true gentleman and doesn't show any of the dry eyed stiff upper lip that Pink Floyd are remembered for.
God bless him and Rick Wright.

Dave is not that kind of guy to show much emotion, but this time I guess he was nearly crying.
We'll never forget you, Rick and Syd!

Yes, very touching. David seems a thoroughly decent bloke indeed. May Rick Wright haunt Michael Eavis for the rest of his pitiful little life.
