A Whippoorwill is a bird. It's one of the Nightjar family from North and Central America. The lyrics of Birth of the Blues include the line "From a whippoorwill, way up on a hill / They took a new note / Pushed it through a horn, till it was worn, into a blue note /

great playing, just beware of those old metronomes. Once they go past their time (age wise) they aren't as accurate. I've heard stories of horn players developing good time by fighting the bad time of the old fashion arm-metronomes. Regardless, great playing.You should check old George Barnes for single line playing if you haven't already, I think you'd get a kick out of his stuff. Keep on plucking and strumming

Like your playing, Chet's tunes are fun but not easy to play, I been working on his songs for years but still not be able to get one done. When Tommy Emmanuel first came to Taipei(the place I live) two years ago, I bought Chet's songbook for him to sign, and he put "Chet is the King" on it.
