to the idiot whos comparing a brand new zr1 vette to a 13 year old lincoln..shut the fuck up and watch some other video..its like comparing apples to oranges, i'd say overall any N/A LSX motor has more power potential per dollar than a modular ford engine but thats not the point..the mark viii was one of the greatest, most affordable (today) and last RWD v8 coupes ford ever built aside from the mustang (yawn), besides its not everyday that you get your ass kicked by a lincoln at a stop light..

Mustang Gt motor? Try again.

The only mustang GT to come with a DOHC was in 2011 and on up.

The engine used in the mark VIII was a 4.6 DOHC, very similar to the ones found in the 97 cobra. The Mark had a teskid block, powdered rods, 6 bolt non forged steel crank, different cams and intake for more torque at a lower rpm.

Mustang GT motors were a cast iron SOHC 2v with a 6 bolt non forged crank and powdered rods. Makes 60 less hp then the mark.

I got given a champagne gold 1994 mark 8 by an acquaintance.. Thing is the air-ride is shot, so she rides like a brick on the ground... or a supra... a mixture of the two. Guy gave it to me because of that, but also because of its lack of power... a quick 10 minute q-tip MAF filament cleaning and shes roastin' z-rated tires again... Can someone send me a link to where I can find a list of "bolt-on's"

Im not sure your 25% figure of drivetrain loss is accurate. If the converter was unlocked your torque would be through the roof and the horsepower would be low. If it was locked up then it would be like a manual being in gear. Im sure its a little more loss that a manual but just not that much. 12-15%manual, 14-18%auto.

To those that don't think it can do 600hp, look at the specs on a 03/04 Mustang Cobra Terminator. Basically it's the same motor. They are known to put out well into the 600-700hp range. Do your f'n homework before you knock this guys car!

ZR1 (the 100k dollar Corvette) would be in the mid to low 11's- some have recorded high 10's stock. The Z06 isn't too far behind, and could dip into the 11's.

@GhostAvenger620 dude you dont even know...my dad got a 94 for 550 bucks! i was so pissed i didnt get to it first lol...absolutley everything worked even the air ride...check engine light was on replaced the o2 sensors and fixed that it smelled like a musty smell from sitting under a tree in the wet for a few months but that is gone now...all leather/paint is good...an amazing buy lol...it had like 100k on it when we got it...now has 160k and still running strong
