As far as I'm concerned, this should be the good ending. Alex dies so more people don't have to die like his innocent little brother, or be sacrificed by a cult. Alex is just a nutcase who was unable to come to terms with what evil he had committed. Sorry, but I wasn't happy at all about the "good" ending because Alex gets to leave with Elle and live a merry life while the rest of the town suffers. How is that good or just? He'll probably end up *wink* accidentally murdering Elle in her sleep.

Furthermore, none of the endings, or the story for that matter, was all that engaging either way. This is what happens when Team Silence offers the reigns to some inexperienced US team who wouldn't know psychological horror if a script of a masterful one fell in their lap. Plus, the journey was so dull from the sewer on.

Personally, I can't wait until Silent Hill Downpour puts this game to shame with its release in March. Even before then, classics like 2 and 3 are being remastered in HD! :D

@EternalSage07 Though it does continue a cycle of people sacrificing their children to save themselves. And wouldn't really say Alex did evil, considering he didn't purposely hurt his brother. Either way, Good endings in Silent Hill are usually pretty bitter sweet.

I think this ending is trying to suggest that Alex's whole adventure turned out to be nothing but a dream; Alex didn't kill his brother, wasn't hospitalized, and was sacrificed by drowning without a hitch. The "Hospital" ending tries to pull off the dream gambit as well, although I think it does a rather lousy job. :(

let me explain. All the families of shepherds glen need to make a sacrifice. During the game, you learn that alex was the one to be Sacrificed by his father , but his father didn't do it. So this caused all the monsters to appear.

In a way, this ending shows that everything that happened was a dream and His father did sacrifice him in the end and this was before josh died.

So yea, this is a messed up family and this is before anything =\

In this ending, Alex wakes up in a bathtub full of water. All the events during the game were a dream and this is before Josh died. In shepherds Glen, every family needs to make a sacrifice. Alex was going to be sacrifice, but his dad didn't do it, so this lead to the events of the game.

So basically in this ending. Alex dreamed it all up and in the end, his father Sacrificed him so the town and it's people will be safe.

This ending is very messed up. =|

This ending implies two possible things:

1) You just dreamt the whole game, you never killed your brother but instead get killed as planned.

2) You went insane after all that happend in the game and now even hallucinate about Joshua and your familiy being alive, but therefor, you die.

Since it isn't clear, which ending is kanon, there's no say in what could be with this ending.
