  • hope hes got a gas mask on!!!

  • Imagine to match that crankshaft with a propeller, it should pull a plane!!

  • He doesn't like the ozone very much

  • press 1 and look gas tank, and then press 3 look it again!

  • dedemden kalma makineler...

  • you know when he started the cyclone i thought he just blew up.

  • that Wright engine would make a great lounge room piece, especially when you fire it up! just tell everyone your gonna make some coffee - LOL

  • Watch the fuel barrel on the jet engine. Look at the fuel level on the black sticker to the left, watch it drink that fuel fast toward the end as the level falls below the sticker on the left of the barrel.

  • to the batmobile

  • I don't want this guy be my neighbor

  • ya i need a jetturbine to start my radial engine too.

  • did anyone ever see ear plugs/muffs? Hearing loss in 99% of macho American males (including myself) view my videos,,,,see any earplugs (stupid!)

  • 1;38 bet that scared someone to death first day on the job

  • Nasty Toys FTW

  • Radial engine is magnificent. Shame he doesn't blip the throttle a bit though.

  • just what everyone needs in their back yard :D

  • yup you can actually watch the fuel level dropping fast, turbines produce a ton of power based on there size but also a lot of fuel consumption

  • chuck norrises food blender

  • i turn white at 1:33 and not really happy about it

  • starts great, better not to long whitout a prop before it overheats!

  • #53 is not running clean, and #27 need a few valve shims.

  • Santos Dumont wont miss fire... :D

  • "chuck norris rascal!" :D

  • this guy has the best toys..........in the world!

  • 1:33 who farted?

  • light a cigar on the end of that fire!

  • Sounds like the disc drive in my computer

  • wie lang sind die stösselstangen ? 1/2 m ?

  • hi im paul timberman with paul timbermans workshop.

  • i was sooooooooooooo waiting for that forklift to take off hahaha

  • 379,213 people _almost_ saw a jet-powered forklift

  • RLOL @ 1:34

  • Chuck Norris' hair dryer

  • The radial engine sounds like my old washing machine on it's spin cycle XD

  • CHECK THE GAS TANK

  • I was waiting for the jet propelled fork lift...

  • c'est grace a cette vidéo qu'on vois comme ça consomme un réacteur, donc un avion (passer la vidéo de 15s à 50s et regarder le niveau de carburant)

  • suddenly the cammera shudders as the operator hits the floor from co2 inhalation...and the cammera videos the rolled back eyes for 2 hours...lol

  • I dont want to be your neighbor thats for sure!!

  • could barbecue for a whole dang party in a few minutes!

  • I like your ear muffs.

  • that is one hell of a fork lift

  • wow how much that thing needs fuel for 1 minute?

  • What no ear plugs in the shop??? I cant breath either

  • That forklift will never fly!

  • @Otacatapetl no but if you put in reverse i bet you would get wicked speed!

  • see the gasoil tank

  • To add on my comments, I reved my old Fiat TC without coolant to 7200rpm, cause I tried to find why only 2 cylinders fires. I stopped far from cylinder head temperature coming into operating temperature. Reason for 2 cylinders not firing, was that I had installed HALL-sensors wrong. When I switched sensors between, it fired at once with all cylinders. Self installed Hestec system with wasted spark ignition. Works perfectly now.

  • @NesteHukka2 Just to know that motor, when power is not taken out of it, doesn't heat so much. It is different case, if throttle is thrown to full and only mechanical physics keep revolutions at certain maximum...

  • 1:33

Why can't my V8 start like this?! xD

  • Love those mis-fires!

  • nice nice nice!

  • press 0 then 3 repeatedly, the look at fuel tank to see how far the fuel went down

  • I am neither pilot nor mechanic, but isn't it a strain on the prop engine (the Wright Cyclone?) to have it running without some kind of weight(s) on the drive shaft, such as propellers (or some kind of replacement/display counterweight)? Is it not overworking and unbalanced because of this?

  • @EVAUnit4A if its just for a short term it makes very little difference

  • @EVAUnit4A

and, no cooling air from a prop ?!

Liked how fast the ground dried in front of that jet motor !!

  • thats going to be one fast forklift!

  • dayı sen bunları nerden buldun ya

  • I've always known fork lift trucks to have many handy uses..but being used as a platform in the testing of a jet engine was definitely NOT one of them !! Brilliant footage..thanx for posting !! Rx

  • GIMME MORE POWER !!! MORE, MORE, MORE !!

  • I would put one of these in my MiniCooper!

  • I was kinda waiting for the forklift to take off

  • how much for the star engine if u sell it

  • Comment removed

  • @762Nikolai ok but a transleted it from norwegian , we call it stjernemotor here. sorry.

  • Bakcfiring in the exhaust means that your outflow valves are not adjusted to the right gap.

If youve done this , you have to adjust the ignition again.

What kind of fuel do you use? 100L?

  • @WildeTanteAnna Heres is that video :-First Engine Start 5 4 09 from pulsarm 265.

See the difference. Check the oiltemperature before you go over to Max.Power! (must be 80C)

And don´t run a radial engine without Instruments.

  • wzhuiiiii kikikikkiikkiii ka-pooooof, motor running. [applause]

  • Hello, what is the humming sound that precedes the noisy startup of the Cyclone radial engine? Are you priming the engine, or cranking the engine without ignition before you start? If it is the latter, why crank the engine for 1 or 2 revolutions first without getting it to fire?

  • how does that not push the forklift

  • This is how I'd like spend my days. Firing up old engines! Really!

  • Glad he does not live in my neighborhood with that hobby.

  • He keeps popping outside for fresh air... not the kinda thing to fire up in the house then

  • this RU 19 is AN 24 APU engine...

  • that radial engine is just beautiful

  • Worlds fastest fork lift 2009

  • combine pistons and turbines and u get the ultimate engine

  • @Bagadaboats What about pistons made out of turbines?

  • Nice exhaust... looks healthy

  • Mr Safety .... NOT!!!!!

  • I have never seen so explosive startup of radial. It was right on with all! Good startup mixture!

How about that one cylinder misfiring? Valve leak?

  • @NesteHukka2 Probably did an hidraulic lock on one of the bottom cylinders (the engine should be handturned before start)

  • @joraircraft Bottom cylinder filled with oil? Looks like maybe the engine survived by blowing head gasket instead??? I have seen onsite as mechanics drained oil from bottom cylinders, and as said turned by hands the engine several cycles before start. Lubrication system of these engines is quite a mystery to me, interested, if you or anyone can tell something about it.

  • @NesteHukka2

I believe this engine is very similar to the Ash-62 IR (soviet version, for An-2, Dromaders, Polikarpovs, etc)!~

It's a dry sump engine with an external lubricant fluid reservoir, nevertheless when you stop the engine for a long period (some hours, depending on ambient temperature, oil grade and engine wear) the remaining oil on the upper part of the engine travels downwards to the bottom cylinders through the rings, filling the space between the piston and the cylinder head.

  • The oil is incompressible, so when you turn the engine with the starter, the cylinders on the bottom with valves closed will have no space for the piston to do the full travel until the top dead center (something will be broken).

Thats why you should remove the spark plugs and turn manually the engine to allow the oil to be drained.

And by the way do not start it without the propeller, the engine has no flywheel itself and and the cylinder heads get really hot.

  • How to kill a radial engine... Start it and leave it running with out a club on on it.

club: a small prop designed to move enough air to keep the AIR COOLED engine running properly.

  • @kaltezar How much heat do you think that engine will produce, as it uses power only to keep running? :) I am sure it doesn't warm even to normal operating temperature.

  • Open the garage door your setting off my carbon monixide detectors!

  • Ok now try stopping the engine by holding the shaft with your hands! :)

  • @TheFlyingPhysicsman Chuck Norris can.

Sorry, this was the only YouTube video left without a dumb Chuck Norris comment. :-)

  • nice! does it not overheat real quick wit the prop off?

  • @rickmanranger Think how much power it produces at idle, and how much power it uses with prop at full power... Cooling is only needed when power is drawn

  • i want one :)

  • give the forklift wings next time

  • That radial engine literally explodes to life. I want that kind of engine to my car

  • Meccanico romantico

  • ok start the radial indoors no windows or doors open. Whoever is alive last gets the last beer in the fridge

  • @Avatar230594

but if u were smart u wouldnt run out of beer

  • @freakshow3850 Touche

  • @Avatar230594 Meh. There's no prop. No one is going anywhere.

  • @n0exit Too true.

  • beautiful radial engine!!!

  • press 0 and look at the canister, press 3 and look at it =D

  • @LolzMan7756 good eye ... that beast could out drink even me =D

  • @LolzMan7756 Now thats gas mileage lol

  • Very good engines but...what about your neighbors?

  • BTW - What's the Bow Saw doing @ 1:08 on on the wall of the machine shop? Maybe to trim some of the trees we see during the turbine engine test? ......My favorite part @ 1:32...... look at his face just before ignition....Then he imparts some "body-english" @1:34 to enhance the "Start"...Then he disappears in a puff of smoke....And reappears....Just like Merlin the Magician....Love it!

  • @frontenginedragsterd - To HELLwith the "vastly more substantial engine test stand", I wanted/expected to see that thing cartwheeling around the floor on its cylinder heads.

  • Remember this ...Boys like the toys that make a lot of noise!

  • trying to kill him self with those fumes in a closed space like that

  • So we are watching the tech commit suicide by asphyxiation! Is that what this is?

  • When he fired up that jet: Did anyone else spot the rate at which the level in the barrel of fuel started to drop?

  • @NJPurling From 1:05, click back to the beginning and look at the fuel level. Even little jets are thirsty !

  • Taková nádrž benzínu.. =D

  • would't that piss the missus off !! --- she growls about me starting the Harleys....

  • всезаметили, как топливо быстро кончаться стало в канистре?

  • The Ru19A-300 is a combination APU/turbojet which was used on a number of civil aircraft. It provides electrical power as well as an additional 2,000lbf thrust.

  • the ground is drying !

  • hello!

that radial need a propeller a cut down for test not only for cooling

but because it's balance the engine like a flywheel a misfiring in this

condition and you say goodby at your crankshaft........: )

  • @wwmb43 yeap, thoese were my thoughts too ...,

  • Ist das ein Ash-62 IR aus einer AN-2? Das ist ein Lizenznachbau von Curtiss. Gruß A.

  • Jet engine on a forklift; an excellent ground dryer. (They actually use jet engines with exhaust spreaders as dryers at many large drag strips)

  • Hallo Willy,

du hast meine Gazelle Turbine letztes Jahr gekauft. Wenn Du Dich erinnerst kennst Du noch meinen Curtiss-Wright Doppelsternmotor. Zum starten brauche ich einen ignition vibrator um einen "Funkenregen" zu erzeugen. Woher bekomme ich so ein Teil? Kannst Du mir weiter helfen. Gruß Andreas

  • you can literally see the canister content decreasing

  • HEY!!!! EXCUSE ME? But could somebody with the airforce please intercept my forklift? it just went zooming backwards until it got airborne

  • Wouldn't a radial engine overheat without a prop?

  • That guy uses invisible earplugs??

  • @geizzie And an invisible oxygen mask? I was coughing just watching.

  • is that a star engine?

  • is dat a star engine?

  • his tool shed has more machinery then the Shop i use to work at !

  • farmers... what dont they have

  • cause a random farmer has a jet engine just laying around... a radial engine is more believable only cause of crop dusting but still kinda unlikley

  • Ummm. .... leaded avgas.......indoor setting........Am I the only one getting woozy? Also a hardon, auto erotic asphyxiation?

  • Ummm. .... leaded avgas.......indoor setting........Am I the only one getting woozy?

  • good vid. like it

  • This would be Chuck Norris hair dryer.

  • @cumesoftware chuck norris doesnt need a hair dryer.....water is to scared to go near his hair

  • For some reason later the camera man felt pretty light headed. Who were the bright ones to start up an engine like this indoors.

  • oi

this is awesome where od you get jet engines anyways? and arent they post to be good on gas or somethign does it run on gas or like airplane fuel or something but i want one and make mine own jet or a spacecraft something they will lift up and down and forth and back haha 4 of these prob lift 5 people maybe haha place frames and stuff i want one

    the end

    :p

  • I bet that dude cant hear shit..

  • I love the Radial Engine.

  • 1:15........coolest starter motor evar

  • looks like it was about to flip the forklift..lol

  • Seems like there would be an easier way to dry off the drive way.....

  • talking about fish-bowling a room.....

  • wonder what will happen if we put some nitrous

  • you should put a disc on the radial and use it as a bench grinder

  • Now thats what I call a massive fuel sucker, geeez, in 10 secs it must have gone 5 litters into it, and its a small turbine!

  • Yeah i saw also THE fuel going down with that jet engine

  • That's insane. Running a big engine like that indoors and filling up the shop with fumes and smoke. lol. Not to mention it is not good to run a prop engine without a prop. The prop is needed for cooling.

  • @theknightlynews this is a machine shop...he should've had the overhead vacuum at least on. And yeah...I agree on the cooling

  • no ear plugs ... nice ...

  • شكرا

  • Imagine having to rebuild something like that.

  • Damn.. I got to get myself a jet engine one day.. Ah, all the cool experiments!

  • look how the fuel level is sinking

  • holy shit!?! 1:34!

  • put that little turbojet in a back of a smartcar and you get the fastest little egg on the planet!

  • what is that you do to start the cyclone?

  • god i love the sound of that inertia starter. wanna put one on my car. hee hee.

  • like to put that jet in the back of my van

  • Beautiful sound

  • WOHOOOWWWW!! Did you see how fast the floor dried up there?

  • He likes tro damage his engine.

No Dynamometer or Dummyprop on this shaft.

Wann will this engine get a overspeedrun?

  • I love the winding sound.. That baby sounds happy:P

  • Won't the radial engine overheat easily without the prop cooling it? I thought that was the idea of a radial. :\

  • does the jet have enough power to throw the fork lift ?? it sounds like it... and you could fix my harley with your eyes closed nice video..

  • How do you start the radial engine? With compressed air?

  • @mzthebest with an inertia starter

  • Why?

    Because I can

    :D

  • I'd love to have that jet engine in my backyard when the neighbors behind me are making noise!

  • I was expecting that gas can to empty in 5 seconds

  • I wonder if his neighbors are like "WTF is he doing over there!!?"

  • 400dB in the garage...

  • hope you got good brakes man

  • hahaha ...I wanna see that fork lift take off!!!
