  • 这首应该是 B flat 调的啊?

  • absolutely phenomenal

  • which key is this dizi in ?

  • music sheet is C fingering 5 (so)

  • @hulusi2008 Thank you very much, really.

Also, do you happen to know which key the Dizi is in the song Nightingale by Yanni ?

  • Three Variations of Plum Blossoms may also be played in D fingering 2 (re), not sure about the song should be a bangzi (high pitched end, thin/short). Never hear of Yanni but I searched for it, the harmony astounded me. But in the (live) video I found on youtube you can see the dizi and try guessing, wish I knew the name of the flutist. Maybe a G

  • I could be wrong, sounds a bit softer than be but it looks like a G

  • @hulusi2008 One of the store owners told me it was in the key of D alto, and that it was a black jade dizi. Do you know where i can find such a type of flute ? As for the flutist, he introduces him in the longer version of the live performance.

  • black jade, that might be rare and for D alto they'll have to be specially ordered. Sorry don't know where you can find such a flute

  • @hulusi2008 Ok, thank you for your help.

  • Of all the versions of this classic tune I heard, this may be the best. Thanks.

  • Very delicate and beautiful - and manymanymany thanks for the sheet music!

What I would like to know: Is there some sheet music available for the guzheng part too?

And: Is there some Information about that song? What is it about? How old is it?

    Best regards

  • This is Mei Hua San Neng, first appeared in a Guqin [古琴] tablature called Shenqimipu [1425]. According to Zu Quan who compiled the tablature, it was originally a dizi piece, later translated into a guqin piece. Today it's more famous as a guqin piece because no one really have any recording or writing for Mei Hua as a dizi piece.

I am sure you can find Guzheng version online as well.

The piece on the video is most likely a re-translation from a modern guqin piece back into a dizi piece.

  • very pretty!
