My winner from the beginning. In my opinion, Jodie brought to the character of Nancy than Jessie did. There was more emotion, more warmth and also the voice was better too. For some reason, Jessie's cockney accent was nowhere near as good for me. I am very glad that Jodie won. The best.

Have to say, the performance from Jodie here is no where near the standard she's now at in the productions. I thougth she was good here when on TV, but she has come such a long way and it brilliant on stage.

I wanted Rachel to win too!!! I went to rachel's opening night in WWRY and Jodie was there. She's actually SUCH a lovely girl. Yes - the 'fatties' vote did count. She had already won 'The Biggest Loser' or whatever it was called. Amazing that people win £25K to losing blubber that they never should have had before. Good point, but I think votes on shows like these are based on things like that: the persons origin. Which is ashame, because it should be a vote on pure authenticity to the role their fighting for, and the performance. I think Jodie is perfect for the role - not saying Jessie wasn't. Good point. The judges werent being proffessional, in my opinion. They were too busy sucking up to the public to get on their good side, thinking that Jessie was going to win - because she's younger. Jessie was good but in my opinion she looked and seemed more "X Factor" than "West End."

She is not a perfect Nancy. See Ruthie Henshall's rendition and look at Jessie's. This woman would be amazing in rep theatre or an amateur production, but she has no star quality - just an everyman appeal to a television audience.
No, I disagree. I'm so glad that Jodie won. She has everything that Nancy has. Have to say, the performance from Jodie here is no where near the standard she's now at in the productions. I thougth she was good here when on TV, but she has come such a long way and it brilliant on stage.

Jodie is awesome as nancy in oliver! much better than on TV and she is such a lovely person - met her at the stage door. Unlike some *cough* Burn she made sure everyone who wanted to got an autograph and a photo with her!

We "saddo's" all have different Musical preferences. Jodie is not common, each one of the women on this prgoramme had amazing talent, therefore each deserved to win in seperate ways. To choose a favourite is not to Be a "saddo" or a "freak", it is to show confidence in your own likes and dislikes. To stand up for what you believe in. Jodie deserved to win. If you did not like her voice that is up to you, but dont go critisising those who do. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I wanted Rachel to win too!!! I went to rachel's opening night in WWRY and Jodie was there. She's actually SUCH a lovely girl. I really didn't like her as i thought Rachel was robbed and i hated this performance -- but having met her i take it all back (well, not the Rachel was robbed bit!) but Jodie truly is lovely and i really really wanna see her in Oliver! now!

simbarro, she certainly raised her game from the first ordinary effort, probably having seen Jessie's 'extraordinary' version she knew she had to do something. She also had the advantage of a home crowd at most of the live shows, but she never got near Jessie in class.

Good on Jodie :) Every time I watch this, I get all all emotional and feel exactly what she's singing.
She's a proper alto, which is sort of necessary for the role, and I think she was the only true alto in the competition? Some of the songs go very low for a female range, and I'm pretty sure that only Jodie would be able to handle them.
She's got a corking pair of lungs on her, a good voice... and those who've said it's wobbly in this cid...

Yes - the 'fatties' vote did count. She had already won 'The Biggest Loser' or whatever it was called. Amazing that people win £25K to losing blubber that they never should have had before. I doubt she gave any of her 'lost pounds' to people starving in Africa. Also, it's a free country, so I can leave as many 'pointless comments' (so pointless that you respond to them) as I want!!!

Good point, but I think votes on shows like these are based on things like that: the persons origin. Which is ashame, because it should be a vote on pure authenticity to the role their fighting for, and the performance. I think Jodie is perfect for the role - not saying Jessie wasn't. But that's my opinion.

Good point. The judges werent being proffessional, in my opinion. They were too busy sucking up to the public to get on their good side, thinking that Jessie was going to win - because she's younger. Jessie was good but in my opinion she looked and seemed more "X Factor" than "West End."
No offence to Jessie, but guaranteed if this had been a normal audition (non broadcasted) Jodie would have certainly gotten the part, hands down.

So so true - the three older judges in my opinion were very unfair to Jodie in the finale and I respect her a lot for keeping it together in the face of all that and still generating true "Nancy" performances throughout. Lol I voted for her so many times that day I think I should have got a mention in the credits!!!

She is not a perfect Nancy. See Ruthie Henshall's rendition and look at Jessie's. This woman would be amazing in rep theatre or an amateur production, but she has no star quality - just an everyman appeal to a television audience.

No, I disagree. I'm so glad that Jodie won. She has everything that Nancy has. She can do the scared vunerable Nancy afraid of Bill Sykes, she can do the tough east end Nancy who's had a hard life sticking up for herself and finally she can do the warm, lovable and cuddly Nancy that Oliver and Dodger love so much.
