  • This is a great video!! I have just pitched my caravan in Tudweiliog for the summer. Can't wait to start using it now :-)

  • @curlymanjazz - hope you have a wonderful summer!

  • @midsaint776 Hi to you! You're right - Derlwyn DID have a shop attached, originally part of the main house, but then separated off (the connecting door used to be under Derlwyn's main staircase). At the time you're thinking of, the shop would have been run by Peter Owen, with my Nain (Sydna Roberts) living in the main house. Does your aunt know Jane Seaborne (nee Roberts) by any chance?

  • my nain was a cousin of robert roberts , and she was the youngest daughter of huw evans in ty hir . my mother jane jones ( nee rowlands) was born in ty hir on 13-04-29 . she will be 82 next week . she exchanges christmas cards each year with jane . i am huw the grandson of nel rowlands and gwyneth jones whom lives at no 1 derlwyn , is my mothers cousin .

  • Know the place well, I was born and raised in Penllech, near the Dive Inn [penrallt]. Still have a caravan on Towyn farm, its nice to go back to your roots.

  • @tontoevans how lovely - you're blessed to be born in such a place and be able to go back.

  • My mother was born in Tudweiliog - the prominent house 'Derlwyn' (now subdivided into flats) was built by my grandfather. I spent many happy times in my childhood there, watching RAF Lightning fighters playing silly buggers from Anglesey. Such memories.

  • @mseaborne lucky you...it's a lovely place I agree..
