i wouldnt talk about macs like that. Macs never needed quad core before. I has a kernel that uses like 10% of what a windows kernel uses, so it can devote more of its processor and ram to other things that you would need a quad core for. Plus alot of apple programs dont use alot of ram compared to windows apps and there is no need for quad core with gaming cause windows xp, which is what alot of bootcamp users use, doesnt need a quad core.

yeah but now theres windows 7 in which even though apple beats it in most parts on a mac book it is by a little and it turns out windows 7 is better in mostly gaming,graphics, etc... but when compared to what hardware you can choose and save will definitely beat any seconds slower of windows 7 to mac and unlike mac windows is now offering free anti spyware it is basic but does not interfere with my FREE McAfee antivirus 2 yrs which is standard for most Dell computers over like 600 bucks

Comparing the actuall hardware, Apples and PCs are pretty simaler in capabilities. But when comparing the operating systems like OSX to Windows Im certain OSX will blow Windows away on many levels. I think the same thing when comparing Linux to Windows. Windows is just slower period. OSX and Linux are both Unix based operating systems and are very stable and very fast.

I got the update recently to my time capsule and stuff just works a lot better now. I had probs with my ps3/wii/360 connecting to it, now that all works, and right now i can use my pc as a media server through vuze and all sorts of crazy stuff that just appeared with this new update. Pretty damn sweet. And my sisters mac now gets full speeds wireless from it, she didn't earlier but yeah. All good :)

the new iMac is a better value now but it is not a better value than something like a touchsmart with the same features and more(blu-ray, tv tuner, multitouch display, HDMI, and more) and windows 7 is at least as good as snow leapard,fedora, and ubuntu. and the plastic macbook scratches so easily! and the battery isnt changeable so no changing when 4-5 hours isnt enough(7 is only with the lowest settings of everything and no wifi/bluetooth) and you have to pay apple to put a new battery/ram in
