  • I remember this show...we watched this and Report Canada in public school all the time

  • This show was the best i use to watch it as a kid lol and would love to see this show on dvd.

  • TVO should post some episodes on their archive site. They've done the same for a few others from this time, so why not this? As bad as it was, it was one of those shows you'd watch if there was nothing better on.

I also have a vague memory of watching this in class back in grade 4 at Lorne Ave Public School.

  • I was a nanny to 3 children when this was a popular show & we watched it all the time!!!!! Thanks TVO and Heather Conkie for all the neat shows for kids during the 80's!!!

  • Conkie was also on the Magic Music Box with the talking victrola record player.

  • who is dude with the long curls? is he the older brother? he looks secretly 30.

  • anymore episodes of this show?

  • Does anyone remember, Heather Conkie was also on another music programme called "Its mainly music" (if I can remember), where she was already the character of Aunt Agnes pre-DAA. She was the landlady of an apartment building.

  • Anyone know the names of or recognize the young girl and boy actors? The girl especially looks familiar.

  • i think the boy's name is bradley phillips. he went to my highschool. he was a grade ahead of me and i had his grade 12 french book after he did. lol oddly enough iforgot about this until tonight.

  • Back in the 80's, my husband & two daughters went to the yearly TVOntario Open House & met Heather Conkie, her husband & daughter. She did so much for TVO & now I cannot find a trace of her!

  • @Sciochick Heather wrote a lot of Road to Avonlea episodes. I still remember her on Report Canada as well. I love the homage to Billy Van and Luba Goyas "Bits and Bytes" in this Episode. TVOntario was great back in the day on a large part due to Heather.

  • Heather is a writer for numerous CBC programs now and lives in Alberta.

  • Wow, a clip! Hopefully one day we'll have the theme up on youtube.

I always liked this show and the values that it espoused.

  • the theme of dear aunt agnes is up!

  • Hi Retrontario, I have almost all the episodes. If you want to contact me, just go to my website at: harry . cckerala . com (remove the spaces) and contact me through the site. I may be able to help you.

We all LOVE this show. I used Google Street View to look at that familiar house. However, I remember there being a circular driveway, which I don't see here.

I wonder where the cast members are. Sad it did not go on for many more seasons. I love the moral values it instills.

  • I think their dad tells them he's getting re-married? He invites them to the wedding in Vancouver. Alex eventually warms up to the idea.

I found the exterior of the house they used for this show. It's at 121 Crescent Road in Toronto's Rosedale. I looked inside the house. It's NOTHING like the floorplan of the sudio used for this show. Oh well. I used to think they filmed in a REAL house when I was a kid.

  • wow a sunday morning classic for lucky canadian kids !!!!!! THIS IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Finding anything online with Heather Conkie is virtually impossible!! thanks for this

  • I used to play on the same hockey team with this kid

  • didnt she keep a telephone in the fridge?

  • I remember the theme song of this and thats about it

  • Now if I remember correctly, the Dad doesn't show up, does he? My childhood was so sheltered, I completely missed the significance of that. I had no idea what was REALLY going on in this program.

  • Thank you SO much!!!!!! You have got exactly what I was looking for!!

  • I used to love this show! My older brother would bogart the tv & wouldn't let me watch it.

  • Great memory here. If you want to find the theme song, do a google search for "Dear aunt agnes theme" and a TVO themes page comes up.

  • Way to go, So glad stuff like this is being posted. Keep up the good work. This show was amazing. Holy Memories!

  • Aunt Agnes can't deal with that newfangled technology --- a portable phone. Laughs ensue -- or not.

  • thanks for the upload brings back lots of memories. to bad you didnt have the theme song

  • i remember this show,

thanks for posting and brings back lots of

    memories= )

  • Thanks for posting this, I would love to see more! I wish TVO would release their older shows on DVD!

  • REPORT CANADA!! OMFG, does that ever take me back...

Man, Heather Conkie...I wonder whatever happened to her. My mom couldn't stand her, and used to make me change the channel whenever she came on...but I had a secret little crush on her when I was four...her and Faye Dance (who used to read the Lottario numbers on Global back in the day).

  • K..wait..was this supposed to be a comedy?

  • love all the videos you post.. not really loving the watermark on the new videos. Is there really a market to bootleg your vhs toronto dubs? Its kind of distracting.

  • Well there are a few douchebags who steal my videos and watermark them with their own logos. Sucks, but what can ye do?

  • I hear you. Bravo on the new logo! subtle, and will hopefully block the douches!

  • wow this is my childhood right here

  • Dear aunt agnus, remember, you said you'd help me out if you could!! LOL That was part of the theme! MEMORIES!!!!!

  • It would be really cool to see the intro of the Cucumber Club, an episode or two of either those Eureka Cartoons, those ones from Europe with the chalkboard character who'd walk on that chalkboard line (I forgot the name but they were REAL cool) or even some episodes of Parlez-Moi (the french instruction show with that clown "Sol" from Quebec)

  • Seeing this show brings back so many cool memories...

TVO has slipped bigtime nowadays, our kids should have shows like this instead of worshipping a litte kid with backpack & monkey or for that matter, a sponge.

  • dear aunt agnes????!!! word.....

In 1985 when I was 4..All was right in the world when i saw my beloved Alex on Dear Aunt Agnes!!

    thanks for posting!

  • Do you know how many fucking people have been looking for this? If you do a search on google, you'll see that people in both the USA and Canada have been searching for clips of DAA for years. Thank you so much for uploading this clip. It brought back so many memories for me, even tho i used to live in the USA. I used to watch this on WVIZ Ch. 25. They would show it in 3 hr blocks from 2 pm to 5 pm on Tuesdays during the mid 1990s. PS, I had a major crush on Alex, did anyone else?

  • I loved this show! Aunt Agnes had a really bad makeup job...though she did predate the whole penciled-in eyebrow fashion trend that would really take in the early 90's.

  • thanks for this!

  • this was really excruciating to watch.

  • You are my HERO! All I've been able to find was the intro...but you posted ACTUAL pieces of an episode...I remember staying up all nite cause it was Christmas day the next day and as a kid I couldnt sleep and watching this show because it was on all nite on christmas eve with Today's special...I miss both shows!!

  • lol. I remember that episode!

  • I just remember the opening theme song... I don't remember the characters in too much detail.

  • Too bad kids these days would never watch a low budget program like this.

  • I would love to see the intro and/or an episode of "Report Canada". This show really needed a laugh reel ;)

  • Haha, this show was great!
