This is the closest come back album to an icons original work to be just as good. It doesn't exceed earlier work but has a few songs that could fit right into their classics list in posterity. It has a bit of everything from their first run. I hear some stuff from debut album The Cars, Candy-O, Panarama, Heartbeat City, Door to Door. Yet now their is a bit stronger and deeper effort lyrically. It is definitely a more sophisticated Cars. "Drag On Forever" Is really quite sublime. Mixing is TOP!
It sounds like this one's about the legendary bassist / vocalist Benjamin Orr too.

Awesome - not many bands around that can disappear for 20 odd years and come back as strong as ever....
