Classical music is great, and its relaxing. Yet it hardly does anything to make you question your own values, and nature. While Manson's music is made to do just that.

@MVCasino First, let's get two things straight, "classical music" refers to music written in the classical era which was in the 1700-1800s periods, that is classical music. You might be referring to what is known as, "concert music". If you think concert music or classical music is "relaxing" then you surely are listening to it wrong. If I wanted to question my values or nature, I'd read various existentialists books or write papers in a more "devil's advocate" tone.

Yet you complain about me generalizing? I find lots of metal music soothing, and relaxing as well. If you need those things to "question" your nature thats fine, but it can also be done in the form of music. It is an art form after all, and yet again you seem to generalize that as well.

As that bias obviously blinds you from the evidence. Is there a possibility there is a God. Maybe, but all evidence points to no. If so is it the Christian God absolutely not. Wrong on two accounts. There is no evidence pointing to the non-existence of a God. If the possibility exists, then there is no evidence at the non-existence, so you are basically using contradictory logic. If there is a God is the Christian God? Certainly, is it the God's of anima? Certainly. It is the individuals interpretation that makes a God, a God, if you believe in the concept. I cannot possibly know there is a God so I live my life until death.

Unless these Gods written about explicitly meant to mislead us. If its that simple then I can make my bed a God, because thats my "interpretation", without any proof or shred of evidence. That people should see it as a God figure. God does have a definition. Look it up.

Your bed is physical and by your meaning of what a God is, immaterial. You cannot opt for two sources of logic and use them here. It makes an unsound argument on your part. Yes, your bed can be a "God" as a God is not confined by the Abrahamic teachings that the "definition" confines itself toward. A God is one that people believe to be a God. A child could be considered a "God" if people worshiped that child as if it were a God, etc. A God is created by the worship of its followers.

While "Gods", and "Religion" have no more reason to not be criticized. Then things like politics or science. Especially when these groups try to oppress others by law. In example homosexual marriage. You can respect their viewpoint as they should respect yours... Berating someone's religion or God does not make the person consider your viewpoint. Rather, that person will dislike you and your views. If you are to argue with theists, you must get them to question their own beliefs, not just spout facts at them. Even if you couldn't care less of their God and believe it to be ignorance, one must argue with them in a manner that tries to understand their reasoning.

As a fact is something with proof, and it conflicts with whatever you believe to be true when that has little to none. That should be a start to the questioning. Yet "faith" is blinding, and its very hard to let go. Its rare someone will actually convert anyone. Its more of a personal exploration. Not to mention we can date things back to millions of years, & have the bones of ancient civilizations ala the fossil records. With quite a few of the "missing" links already found. Yet fundamentally religious people tend to ignore these records. I guess demonstrable evidence isnt anything when you have a book to tell you how to think.

Manson is so fucking intellegent. People just always think of him as a bad influence, but really, he is a great influence. If people would really take the time to listen to the interviews and understand him, they would also love him. Just because his music has a darker side doesn't mean that he's a negitive being.
