Maybe The Client - Umbro - didn't want a Red Cross - 'done that - been there' ! i guess He was trying to avoid the shit He'd have got if He had used one - so it's a no win situation. You can imagine how the BNP and such like would have totally embraced it all for the wrong reasons..and hijacked it ! S0 - not as straightforward and easy as it first appears ! Personally I think it should have said

'Europe is Europe and not German - because of us

this one looks like shite. 2009/2010 kit with the red unmbro instead of blue looks much better. it's like they are trying blue and white not red and white.

This is really not for me. The little crosses on the shoulders really aren't apparent from afar but look terrible up close. I get what they're trying to accomplish but i don't really think this works..

i was critical of this shirt when it first came out, but it's won me over since then. It's a clever, uniquely english pattern. Different from anything else out there, yet subtle enough (at least from a distance). I can't think of any nike, adidas or puma kit that's really impressed me recently - they might as well be the same kit from 10 years ago. We should be glad we've got a true design process - some you'll like, some you won't. but it's better than the bland crap everyone else has.
