@DrDisasta No that's just an Automatic GTO. That have 4 speed transmission and it has taller gears than the 6spd standards. If this were a 6spd manual transmission it would have accelerated faster from a 60 roll. Autos drain more HP that a manual from the transfer from motor to wheels and the Manual GTOs have slightly shorter gears for better acceleration and with the added gears they can still achieve more top speed than the Autos. Just depends on what the driver wants.
@AdrenalineJunky17 Manuals are generally considered and generally put out more performance than an auto tranny...However, GM's 4 speed autos they used in the f-bodies, GTO's, and corvettes put out just about equal times as the manuals. For example, GM themselves in their sales packets for the 05 GTO gave the manual tranny a 4.7 0-60 and 13.1 1/4 mile. The auto tranny GM said could do .1 FASTER to both than the manual!

@cstz24 ...no the 6.2L engines have a little bigger than a 4.06 bore. This stroker is honed out to 4.08 and a 4.10 stroke, giving it about 429CI total. After break-in, I ended up with about 540rwhp. Of all the engines I've had, this was my favorite. I had a Maggie 122hh supercharger, and it didn't even come close to this stroker. You should definitely put a cam in your LS7. It's such an easy mod. It only takes an afternoon to install one.

Nice car man, I'm finishing up the stroked LS2 402 with ported LS3 heads on my car right now. I'm running a Yank 3600, sounded like you are running a 4400+ stall? Or is it just tire spin?

@cstz24 ...no the 6.2L engines have a little bigger than a 4.06 bore. This stroker is honed out to 4.08 and a 4.10 stroke, giving it about 429CI total. After break-in, I ended up with about 540rwhp. Of all the engines I've had, this was my favorite. I had a Maggie 122hh supercharger, and it didn't even come close to this stroker. You should definitely put a cam in your LS7. It's such an easy mod. It only takes an afternoon to install one.

on another note, how the hell do you make a "stroker 427"? My GTO, though I agree the knock off front end is rubbish, has a LS7 in it ( I worked for a GM dealer). As far as I am aware there is nothing to stroke a SBC GEN III or GEN IV to that CI (max stroke being 4.125" a 427 GM being 4")
Or do you just have an engine swap?

Wow that's a lot of power that never did get from the engine to the wheels. I bet a manual thats at 3k at 60mph and held the same gear to 140 at 7k rpms would be faster even tho it's low in the rev band for a lot of the acceleration.
