What I want to know is who was the effing moron asking for a HAZMAT crew immediately after the accident? Are we now more concerned with the environment and a little fuel spill than human life? This PC crap is getting out of hand.
@lizard944 28 years, don't you think it might be better if they put the fire out before sending rescue in? BTW this was PD asking for Hazmat FD will send what's required for an alert 3.
adrenaline running through those officers and then this happens?! How do you shift from that attitude to this rescue attitude?! awesome scanner work here! hear that woman getting to the site 1st?! incredible.
@cremington11 " George Bush had something to do with this too." You're an idiot. I suppose you blame Obama for the Gulf Oil leak too....oh, wait, YOU probably blame G.Bush for that too.

Of course everyone in Phoenix are dicks! On average, 500 ppl a day move into Phoenix from other U.S. states! Most residents of Phoenix weren't born and raised here! Most residents have moved to Phoenix trying to run away from their problems and since everybody is from different parts of the U.S., everyone has different ways of how they do things and when it all comes together, things usually tend to not work out and ends in disasterously with ppl criticizing and getting mad at everyone!
@xXazdesertboyXx I agree. I used to live in Phoenix and had no issue with the natives. It's these midwesterners and Los Angelinos bringing their sense of entitlement that soured the Valley.
Acutally.....Helicopters are very safe, much more safer than airplanes. What happend over phoenix that day was a terrible accident but helicopters are very safe
I'm not sure what you meant by your comment about 3fan "not knowing anything about aircraft." I do know about aircraft, both fixed wing and rotary and I can say beyond all doubt, Helicopters are much safer than airplanes especially when it comes to power failure. If power failure occurs in a helicopter, we do what is called an "autorotation." If you lose power in a plane, you can still fly the plane but you need a runway to land on.
While that may be true, if you take off from an airport in a fixed wing aircraft and gain 100 ft AGL in altitude chances are you can't land the plane safely either. But to be quite honest, most power losses in a helicopter do not occur at 100 ft AGL, but instead usually above 500ft in which you can more than likely do a safe autorotation.
you cant do an autorotation if all your blades are smashed. Your fucked

The posibility was brought up by the police chief when the suspect was caught, although to my knowledge it never actually happened.

You can't autorotate safely 100ft off of the ground.

Great, many thanks. But is there any way you can get rid of the echo as it is most sistracting.

Sorry I can't.

Ok, no problems, many thanks for posting this most interesting tape, really apreaciate it.

Most Scanners are mono in quality and computers have up-converted them to stereo. If you have surround sound, there is definite echo.
My Thoughts and prayers are with KTVK and KNXV News Departments, for both crews were irreplaceable.
