  • you cant do an autorotation if all your blades are smashed. Your fucked

  • What I want to know is who was the effing moron asking for a HAZMAT crew immediately after the accident? Are we now more concerned with the environment and a little fuel spill than human life? This PC crap is getting out of hand.

  • @lizard944 That has nothing to do with why hazmat was requested idiot.

  • @astrak1001 Security, EMS, then HAZMAT. 27 years in disaster preparedness/ mass casualty. And you, Opie?

  • @lizard944 28 years, don't you think it might be better if they put the fire out before sending rescue in? BTW this was PD asking for Hazmat FD will send what's required for an alert 3.

  • adrenaline running through those officers and then this happens?! How do you shift from that attitude to this rescue attitude?! awesome scanner work here! hear that woman getting to the site 1st?! incredible.

  • George Bush had something to do with this too.

  • By the way, Phoenix isn't full of dicks, and the one that said fuck Phoenix, FUCK YOU ASSHOLE.

  • I was watching channel 10 ( I live in Phoenix) when the helicopter panned over to black smoke rising from the park, terrible incident.

  • Sad for the pilots and their families..

  • Comment removed

  • The posibility was brought up by the police chief when the suspect was caught, although to my knowledge it never actually happened.

  • All because of the ignorant ass criminal..

  • fuck pheonix

  • What did Phonics do to you?

  • well all of arizona i just moved here people are dicks

  • People are dicks everywhere..Its the way of the world unfortunately.

  • People from Phoenix aren't dicks! It's the ppl that move here from other U.S. cities that are the dicks!

  • You hit the nail right on the head. Most of the "psycho" idiots are coming here from the midwest.

  • @xXazdesertboyXx I agree. I used to live in Phoenix and had no issue with the natives. It's these midwesterners and Los Angelinos bringing their sense of entitlement that soured the Valley.

  • You sould learn to spell PHOENIX before you "FUCK IT"

  • Place still sucks

  • 3:10

  • Acutally.....Helicopters are very safe, much more safer than airplanes. What happend over phoenix that day was a terrible accident but helicopters are very safe

  • You must know nothing about aircraft.

  • I'm not sure what you meant by your comment about 3fan "not knowing anything about aircraft." I do know about aircraft, both fixed wing and rotary and I can say beyond all doubt, Helicopters are much safer than airplanes especially when it comes to power failure. If power failure occurs in a helicopter, we do what is called an "autorotation." If you lose power in a plane, you can still fly the plane but you need a runway to land on.

  • You can't autorotate safely 100ft off of the ground.

  • While that may be true, if you take off from an airport in a fixed wing aircraft and gain 100 ft AGL in altitude chances are you can't land the plane safely either. But to be quite honest, most power losses in a helicopter do not occur at 100 ft AGL, but instead usually above 500ft in which you can more than likely do a safe autorotation.

  • so i guess you have the relevant professional qualification to make that assumption or is that just opinion?

  • great catch!!! of the scanner

  • wow, good catch. Thanks. Check out my scanner recordings

  • Good scanner catch! thanks for posting it!

  • I dont understand this post, but make sure you have your volume up.

  • crash occurs at 3min 10secs, heard at 3min 23 secs

  • Great, many thanks. But is there any way you can get rid of the echo as it is most sistracting.

  • Sorry I can't.

  • Ok, no problems, many thanks for posting this most interesting tape, really apreaciate it.

  • Most Scanners are mono in quality and computers have up-converted them to stereo. If you have surround sound, there is definite echo.

My Thoughts and prayers are with KTVK and KNXV News Departments, for both crews were irreplaceable.
