  • you made a great training aid. so nice to see that you did it yourself as they are asking over 1000 dollars for the grappleman

  • I see judo throws!

  • Awsome, thanks for the video.

  • Only dummies don't tap.

  • Can it bend its kness, so you can train guards offenses and defensives?

    Looks great

  • NICE VIDEO !!!

  • whats the name of the song you got playing in background?

  • @MrJunglemike "Demons" by LTJ Bukem!

  • how much does he weigh? and how can you make him heavier??

  • *cough*Sexdummy*cough*

  • Pedro's sponsored by Koral!

  • haha the dummy taps out at 0:39

  • Ya it was pretty cool but ur jst doing the same armbar over and over again, but it was still pretty cool

  • how much did it cost and can you bend it into different postitions? also on your link you didnt specify everything such as how to wire the frame together, wondering if you could send me a message with some more details? would be appreciated but if you dont have the time i understand, thanks

  • How durable???

  • Approximately how much did it cost all together to make it?

  • i saw him tap... how'd you get him to do that?

  • this or rap a sex toy in duct tape lol

    cool idea

  • Thank you for this vid, I was about to drop like 300$ on a dummy but now I think I'll just make one.

  • the second arm bar looked really cool, to better the arm bar though, dont curl up ur legs like u did just lay your left leg over throat and the other just on the chest and lift ur groin off the ground. it hurts like hell. doing it this way i could make anybody tap out in less than 2 seconds of puting them in this hold. and also ur groin has to be underneath the bend of the arm that way u can bend the arm the opposite way of the way its supposed to bend :o

  • thank you for sharing your video!!! your video helped me with my dummy 2 years ago and it still takes a pounding....

  • Cool man! I made the skeleton of mine with thick cable inside PVC pipe, then I used a ton of old clothes for the torso. I used pool noodles to flesh out the arms, legs, and neck and covered the whole thing in like 6 rolls of duct tape. For the head I used a soccer ball and filled it full of stuffing which works great for ground and pound.

  • whoah.... did i see that dummy actually TAP at 0.40 ???? now that IS realistic lol

  • whoah.... did i see that dummy actually TAP at 0.40 ???? now that IS realistic lol

  • Why use this? Why Not purchase a used Maniquin for $20 and some $3 ball joint locks from the hardware store....saw the shoulders, elbow joints, leg joints, head, ect. and apply the joint locks??

  • Looked kinda like the dummy tapped at :39 ;)

  • great vid!! i,ve been tryng to fid a cheap grappling dummy n can,t find it anywhere since i live in asia. it would be perfect if u just made a tutorial how to make those fancy dummy of yours :)

  • nice dummy, how did you make?

  • Hey dude, looks like the dummy id like to make, did you use or have you made a tutorial?

  • about how much does your dummy weigh?

  • very nice dude,

would u care 2 make a vid on showing step by step on how 2 make one?

  • yo man can u get it to go in your guard like sitting back on feet and everything or no?

  • i just viewed the website were all the photos are and was wondering where you got the black and blue foam from?

was it the hardware store or what???

    thanks

  • Awsome going to see if I can construct it tomorrow :)

  • OMG BUKEM!!!!!

  • thats cool

  • Do got instructions on how you built the thing?

Especially how you got it durable enough for throws and take downs.

  • Thanks alot man, this vid sorta inspired me to get off my ass and make my own dummy and we just finished.

  • where did u get the mat

  • awesome dood, im going to follow your guide and build one myself

  • very inventive man , cool stuff

  • dude thats a fantastic grappling dummy good job!

  • nice job

  • Very Cool..Thanks...

  • this is really cool. I was thinking about adding some heavy piping around the wire to give it more of a skeleton and add some weight, any ideas on that? you could even do a foot with ankle so you could practice heel hooks.

  • thanks to you- i made my dummy a year ago!!! you have been a big influence in my training ...thank you and hell with the haters

  • P.s How much did the materials end up costing you. But big time props man. You did a great job.

  • Dude. Is this thing only duct tape? Cuz i definetly cant afford a bag and this thing looks way cooler. You should sell this. I think you'd make some bank.

  • im thinking of making one of these for my judo but to improve the weight (i want it to be at least 120 lbs) do you think using sand is a good idea?

  • hi, do u make/sell em now??

  • I wonder how the dummy got a Brown belt...

  • Which dummy? ...me, or the one made of duct tape? :D

  • @ArashiNage hahaha yeah but nice creation I want to build one myself, I visited the site I'm going to start soon. I'm just a BJJ white belt though one stripe shine of blue :). This is great for running drills at home. I checked into buying one and they are supper expensive so it's nice I found a more cost effective way by building one.

  • DAM WHAT DUCKTAPE CAN DO lol jk this is a ok dummy looks like it wont break easyly

  • I really gotta thank you for this because as of now I haven't had a sparring partner nor can I afford a gym for awhile so this is exactly what I needed.

I'm still a beginner in bjj and need to get way more reps down so this alone makes it worth it for me... obviously technique needs to be developed elsewhere. In my situation this will do 100x more for me than what ~$50 could get my at a gym around here.

  • Thanks!

  • Wow thank you for this dude!!! I was actually thinking about buying a pre made dummy for myself. You just saved me a whole bunch of money!!!! And don't listen to these negative comment queermoes dude they are just hate'n on you mad epic skills!!!!

    ; )

  • Thanks for the comment!

  • thats pretty kewl man

  • So there is a brown belt around the dummy, are you a brown belt yourself?

  • Im a blue belt in BJJ. The brown belt is from my old Judo days!

  • hey how do make such a good one like urs could u make a video or something or just reply to my comment telling me how thanks

  • couls you tell me how to build one of these

  • Great dummy, although I just have to say.. your techniques are really sloppy.. of course I understand that you were demonstrating but still.. could of been better.

  • yes... always learning. That is why I made the dummy, to practice, practice, practice!

    Thanks for commenting!

  • Thanks for commenting on his technique...you worthless piece of shit! Read the fucking notes next to the video. He is demonstrating the dummy. He built it to practice and get better. He was nice in his reply to you, but I will tell you to fuck off!

  • Sorry I forgot I was talking to you, wait no I wasnt so shut the fuck up, wanker.

  • @guyger429 awesome!

  • @ardinger00

Thanks, I really hate people who cant read and think they know everything.

  • Comment removed

  • It looks really good. What's under the duct tape? I made one once out of old clothes, but it just kind of lays there limply....reminds me of my ex. lol.

  • nice, it`s bether than mine... but I am making a new one now.. how did u make the joints? like making the knee pop up? thanks

  • that is really well made it looks like the one that are 4 sale i like how u dressed it aswell

  • where can i get a dummy like this.

  • You have to make one... that was the purpose of the video!

  • just finished making mine really enjoyed trainin with it good for the armbars thanks for putting this on its saved me a bomb.

  • wow! awsome! honestly it looks like it works better than the ripoff dummies they sell online. also, as a bjj purple belt i must say you have way better technique than the guys showing grappleman, and submaster. great job!!!

  • how heavy is that and how do u make it heavy

  • It's about 50lbs. I think some sand weights inside would be a really good addition. To add weight.

  • i don't plan on doing it but i was reading on a forum where a guy took a big water bottle and put in the middle and it added like 50 pounds.. pretty good idea, lol

  • dude thanx for the link....i need a training dummy.....at least until the summer when my buddy and i are goin to train in his back yard lol

  • i went to your page you made on how to and it gave me an idea with your problem with weight. have you thought of using possibly a small pvc body frame with heave gauge wire for limbs and my thought of was use of sand bags pretty much then in cased in canvas and duct tape

  • I think the sand bags are a great idea.

What sucks is... just yesterday we made a family trip to the Goodwill to donate a bunch of stuff we didnt need anymore. My wife got rid of several ankle / wrist sand weights.

Thinking about it now, I could have easily put those inside my existing dummy and instantly added another 15lbs or so. I think I will go to the goodwill and buy back those sand weights!

  • now i just can't wait to get some cash together to start making one of my own. or just get a room mate that enjoys MMA for sparing

  • I prefer to use homeless people while they sleep its free, and you get real life experience, only down part is you need a good sanitizing afterwards

  • where im from homeless people dont exist lol

  • how did you make it these damn things are not cheap

  • Yeah, they are not cheap, so that's why I wanted to try and build my own. Materials cost me about $75 I used heavy guage wire as a skeleton, foam, old clothes, and duct tape.

  • I think you did a good job with your grappling dummy. I've been considering making one but now that you said it cost you $75 for the materials I think I'll just buy one. I've seen them as low as $200. Even with all the materials I will likely not do as good a job as you.

  • Poor guy probably bought one and realized all he could do are armbars from mount and gnp. The Wire in this is very innovative... all the cheap dummies are good for is punching... that's why they aren't $500 like the rest... just read their reviews.

  • hi there me and my friend are making one but we are teen agers and the thing is we will buy wire and duck tape but not the foam because is really expensive. is it possible to make one with out the foam ?

  • ow yh we wont use foam

BUBBLE WRAP is a lot cheaper.

but thanks for the idea of the gummy

  • not gummy DUMMY
