@ismaelkhan Why did you go through five 2500$ monitors.....Couldn't be because you took off the protective layerings? I think I'll just try to buff it out.....
using this same monitor right now. was found outside a college. Theres a 4 inch scratch on the monitors screen, with a few smaller sratches next to it. Would you think I could buff it out? The repair places can't replace the glass because its part of the monitor.
@ikickz00 if your any good with taking this beast apart ( not a hard job ) you can remove the ar coating which is scratched, dont worry the glass should be fine, when you have removed it - the monitor will look as new as ever with improved contrast ratio's and brightness :) get in touch if you want more info...i cant belive someone chucked it out, makes me sick but now at least its gone to a good home :)
@ismaelkhan chucked out a gdm f520 too. but anyway, taking off the top layer.... wouldn't that make it easier to mess up the monitor? besides, the repair place said they couldnt do that anyway.
@ikickz00 it wont damage anything, just take damn good care of it and you will be fine :) it will look brand new trust me ive done it 5 times and never looked back :)
@ROBCRX Just as with any other CRT, that depends. Lots of things can potentially go wrong, but most can be repaired if you have the right tools, knowledge, and replacement parts. A better question would be "Is it worth repairing?" And for most any problem with an FW900, I would say absolutely.

I bought 2 of these. on ebay.. one in october from cali (100+150shipping) and one I picked up in january from brooklyn (226+15gas+20Lunchforcousin). I love them dearly.
was on ebay of all places, i was bidding on it and someone eles won it so was gutted, but then the next day got a £15 second chance offer and snapped it as you can imagine.
obviously this was because the seller didnt want to post it and i was about 15 miles drive away best £10 petrol ever spent! im using some sony ss-lx9av speakers with the brilliant pioneer sa-9800 its still going strong, think i was listening to jean michele jare! EQUINOX full album.
Nice screen! I got myself an asus hdmi 22 inch tft. What speakers are you running now? I still haven't got the pioneer, but i got some infinty speakers for free and an nad 3020a. Check my channel
thanks for the nice comment, it is indeed worth the struggle up the stairs and all the work ive done on it, she has an immaculate picture with no scraches on the glass, i calibrated her the other week, focus adjustment, greyscale, brightness contrast, convergence and she looks simply stunning its a shame about the crappy vid quality cos if u wear here in person you'd be able to see really see what she's capable of! good luck getting one its worth all the running around me thinks.
I'm looking for one as well, but there are none locally, I'll have to import one from another country and that costs a LOT. Shit dude, you are very lucky, take care of it and have it checked often, you don't want to lose this monitor trust me, it's worth its weight in gold.
As soon as I sell this shit LCD maybe I can get one in decent condition, a dream of mine as well, we'll see if it comes true for me ;)

@ismaelkhan Did it have an overbrightness problem or a color balance problem?
