I think Kevin seemed distant cos he was confused. The whole situation must have been pretty bizarre/surreal to him. Suddenly he was traveling all over the world/having a fling with this very famous person after putting his old life (a very different life for that matter) aside. Then out of the blue, on camera, she tells him she loves him. How could he even be sure she wasn't joking? They barely knew each other. Not surprisingly his reaction was what it was.
Only guessing here but the fun times with Kevin probably made her feel a little more free inside and not as lonely anymore. That's what she really loved more than anything; how he made her feel, not the person himself. Not saying she didn't have real feelings for him, I think she did, but she also had a void; a desperation to love/be loved, so her feelings for Kevin were heightened. I think she got confused and thought she was in love because she really wanted to be. It's understandable.

What satisfaction does she get from lip-synching a ballad? I can understand the faster songs where she is dancing and out of breath, but if I was going to perform a ballad I would want to actually sing it. I love singing and I would want to show off my voice. I'm not picking on her, I love her. I just don't get it.

I think that Kevin really changed the way she acts. She was lonely and just needed to feel loved by SOMEONE. And there Kevin was. It's like she didn't really love him, but she lied to herself because she just wanted someone to be with. :/
