  • The elephant is impressive. But look at the big picture. They will no doubt spend millions perfecting it. Then who do you think will want to add it to their arsenal.

  • @hiwayjohnny Skynet?

  • @CelesteStorywriter Well I wouldn't go that far LOLOL. But the military loves toys like this. They have already contracted Boston tech the makers of the big dog into putting their robot into military application. Just search big dog on youtube and you will find it. It carries 300+ lbs and can't be knocked over and it even walks on ice Awsome machine.

  • @VudgeEyenaPounder No, but should we risk it?

  • i was there that day, REALLY AMAZING!!!

  • btw the tusk where real ivory :D

  • dthsrtv

  • That "schoolgirl" looks creepy as hell.

  • i'd hit that

  • sorry I rated you down by accident, ur awsome

  • this is a fantastic display but it looks like something made back in stone age. with a bit more money it would seem they could have made it look even more realistic.

  • because maybe you were just thinking of elephants for some reason, but we all like robotic versions of anything. they may have used to make the elephant a suspended prop also, but dayumn, im guessing a big rig diesel engine with hydraulics and control system from a small service crane vechicle, with an upper frame made from the frame of a multicar truck trailer.

  • I can see what you mean, but my personal opinion is that this somewhat victorian look is what makes it so fascinating. A realistic looking robot elephant would rather bore me...eventually (Why not just watch a real elephant then? You know?).

I would love to see those robots used in a fantastic movie.

  • it's called art, why do you think they put a house on the elephants back? because they're awesome, realism isn't everything.

  • i wasnt critizing it. I just said they could do more to it.

  • I have never seen this video or heard about this reason i googled it cause I dreamed of this very same elephant .. i have goose bumps and wonder why I dreamed about it.

  • lol. I feel goose bumps now too)) After seeing report of EATR technology developed by Pentagon. Last sommer i was thinking myself how to transfer biomass into energy for robotic needs)) And now seeing that came alive... It is just like WOW!

  • Fuck You SoilWzelot. That is awesome stuff.

  • ofc,when you are 13 years old..

  • oh thats right, good, now we are sure we wont miss all animals(and school girls haha) we erase from face of the earth, bravo for humanity!!

if i was 'practicing' ''shame'' , surely being 'human' would be first thing...

  • You resent what humans create? We're just playing....do not hate >:3

  • Is it a pleasure model? Can it please me?

  • lmfao

  • SON TITERES... no ven las sogas???...

  • wow this is soo scary. i can not believe they would actully do this. this is sad....

  • What is sad? It's awesome;..

  • Amazing

  • What powers that things? A V8 engine maybe ?

  • you know what would suck? I mechanical error that makes the elephant run into the crowds out of control

  • walking with dinosaurs live

  • I wish they have these on tokyo disney land

  • that is the most amazing thing i ever seen.

  • You are right.

Yet mankind is a proud species. We like to watch our own creations, giving the feeling of being a godlike creature. Yet we do not like to see how inferior our technology is to nature.

Technology is a toy, not a way of live. But it is the western way.

  • Fit ih fuck, are you a poofter hippy?

    haw haw bammed!

  • Humans love to create novelty. There's no shame in that! We exist to play, maturity is an illusion!

  • yes of course there is nothing wrong being child, that is THE POINT all in all.. but what is the problem is that human today praises more his ''inventions'' which are not more than poor interpretation of nature, human never created anything and it never will, think about it, did we invent the wheel?? or we just SAW that round things goes faster than edgy things??

if you think im wrong think about how people invent something?? we just combine whats already possible...

  • or that is like saying that the child who solved the puzzle made the puzzle, witch is obviously not truth, can you see where this is going?? :)

i don't even remember what i wrote here when i first saw this movie, and i am sure that then and now the reason is not hate, cos i don't hate anything, hate is waste of time, but i would like that every1 understands importance and beauty of nature, our mother, and not to egoistically think that human is even slightly more important than anything worldly

  • sorry for such a lengthy reply :)

    peace and love!

  • Well we are limited in our creation to the tools and materials we find lying about, and out inspiration is taken from our limited perpectives...we can't manifest matter from the nothing....yet!

But it's still creation! If you believe in a Creator and believe that we are part of that Creator(it's children?) then it only makes sense that we imitate it and create ourselves.

The only other option is creating life through childbirth and this is beautiful but a far greater responsibility.

  • ok lets agree to disagree :), cos i could give you many more reasons why childbirth is not creation... and about our limited function, yes we are limited indeed, by the realm that we live in, i personally do not believe in personal creator, which means that HE/IT has ego thus having likes or dislikes as church explains it, but i know that what ever human creates cant be of more importance than the thing or space that made it possible, we do not create planets, suns, consciousness, space, time..

  • i could go on 24/7 counting all marvels that is around and us and that we are built of, and that that things are non existent all this including this conversation would not exist, i dont know if its truth but they say that the bees all die human era would ended right next them, we depend on so many yet we respect almost nothing but ourselfs...

sorry again for lengthy reply :)

    peace.

  • The wonders around us should not stop us from creating what we can. It's in our nature to build things, from monoliths to wall art..to machines that channel elecricity. The internet is certainly a fine creation....and IMO it brings us closer to our "secret" goal. >:3

    GODHOOD

    >xD YES!!

  • I also believe one day we shall build a sun. I am a futurist I suppose...

Childbirth not creation? I'd be interested to hear why, actually.

  • yes but in the moment we build it we should stop for a minute and thank universe that it made it possible for us :), i mean we do not need to do it, but our respect will be reflected to us if we do it and it will make US feel better and not make us feel '' we are here, yes ok we got used to it, yes, nothing new'' and come back to praise ourselfs...

    about childbirth, in next comment.

  • childbirth, first about being creation or not, yes ofc it is creation, but who created it?? or in physics terms, there is no creation, only energy changing its states, going from one to another.

birth was possible before humans, and little cute beings also, also we did not crate sex organs, we did not plan where to put parts to make it work, everything was there before our thoughts, same as if you turn on the light and you say ''i made the light'', same is for child making, again human ego :)

  • sorry for harshness in my answers but to understand universe and everything you must take everything to a count even the things that you maybe dont like, this may be too much but ill say so you can try to understand what am i saying, common MAN loves women, but most of them dont like the image in their head of their beloved making crap :)... but thats reality, embrace it and love it, or be blind and negate things :D

    peace :)

  • seems you are right. Check out :Baba Vanga future prediction. Check her out on Wikipedia too :-)

  • i completely agree but i didn't said we should not ''create'', what i was thinking i am pointing to is respect and priorities, would you like your child to be more respectful and prioritise internet, PS3 or the sun or water and food which made it possible for him to live, ungratefulness brings people to despair cos when they lose material possesions they think there is nothing more left in this world to live for.

btw nice to talk to you.

    peace.

  • There isn't any shame in that. As long as we can see difference between that what matters in the world and that what we create. We shouldn't be so dependent on technology. A nice example is de Dalai Lama in Nepal. Most of the time he travels by car, but when the car isn't available he takes the mule.

I totally agree with you that maturity is an illusion. I still have to meet the grown-up that actually has grown-up! Wisdom is a rare thing these days.

  • holy crap dude, i think you just blew my mind

  • Hindi songs In the Beginnig??

  • thankyou for posting this-its amazing! has there been any official footage released from the hostsof the parade?

  • omg thats fucking cool!!!

  • TO WARRRRR!

    Lord of the Rings style~

  • If they have that robot im sure their hiding better ones. Personally I think they are working/making one as versatile as a human body. I would love that. They already have the speed and function. Now they need the brains.

  • No they don't! :D

    And that elephant had wheels!

  • and that elephant is not even a robot...

    it's a very big puppet...

  • Really? It wasnt pneumatic? Or hydraulic? It kinda seemed like it

  • Those things don't make it a robot.
