  • it's a starting point for progress when i see people who believe that god created evolution in nature, so i cannot get defensive. However, what I don't see the need to put the word "god" in sentences to complete them. They seem to me more like a "moral agent of reassurance (the agent being supernatural a entity)" rather than a term which further enhances ones message. As time goes on, our language SHOULD evolve as well as our concepts and theories.

  • Dr. Collins is 100% correct in this video, especially at 6:00.

  • I cringed when the lady said she is a sunday school teacher, evolution is very much a deist mentality! it does not work, no matter how you spin it, with christianity! it seems to me that this video is very short sided in relation to stances on intelligent design, creationism, and biblical stances/truths!!

  • i know....i dont get it sunday teacher who does not think God created the world.....creepy

  • "intelligent design, creationism, and biblical stances/truths!!"

These are all the same thing......religion.

  • You know I'm a muslim but I still beleive in evolution to some extent, because animals do change over time, thats a fact.

I still have trouble beleiving we share over 99% of our dna with monkeys.

  • "I still have trouble beleiving we share over 99% of our dna with monkeys. "

    apes, not monkeys.

I'll have to look it up to be sure, but I think it is more like 97% similarity to chimpanzees.

  • ummmm whats the difference?

  • The difference between monkeys and apes?

    Monkeys have tails, apes don't.

There are other skeletal differences too.

Humans are more closely related to apes.

Oh, and it's 98% genetic similarity between humans and chimps.

    *shrugs*

  • btw that was sarcasm....and who cares if its 98 percent or 99....nobody cares

  • 98.6% the same DNA as Chimps.

  • It blows my mind that we share a significant percentage of genes with microscopic worms like c. elegans and that we share biological systems like metabolism.

  • That's genetics your denying to be more specific, not evolution, though they are so intertwined you might as well deny the bedrock of 20th and 21st century science if your going to deny either... No offense intended.

  • didnt science and religion begin through curiosity and a search for knowledge. When did religious leaders say "we have all the answers, theres no need to look any further". There must have been a period of great insight prior to this.

  • Saint Augustine (4th century) argued the creation account of Genesis as an allegory instead of as historical description.

1st century Jewish scholar Philo of Alexandria wrote "It would be a mistake to think that creation happened in six days or in any determinate amount of time."

  • Good video but their still is no God.

  • proove it lol

  • I agree great video. I think the compromising position will ultimately win, although faith really should have no business in the human mind no matter how you creatively you keep it in there(humble opinion :) ).

  • "..faith really should have no business in the human mind..."

No, faith itself is important. I agree that blind faith / religious faith / beliefs that are contrary to evidence / etc. are dangerous, but the ability to make a decision when there isn't enough evidence available is important.

It's just in situations when there is adequate evidence that faith becomes unnecessary and should be swapped out for reasoning.

    :-)

  • Fantastic video. The hit the mark 1:50 in - intelligent design is not science.

Nothing more then that need be said.
