a little error on the Smart Gun: it actually has a much more range dependent round, where it's extremely powerful at close ranges, and weaker at short ranges. it's extremely useful in the campaign, especially against Praetorians.

@tidomann I realised today, the second ability of thr flamethrower is spraying gasoline, so just knock your enemy to the ground, spray gasoline and then fire and theyre often instantly dead! Still gotta try it online however, but it sure is a funny way to kill

the chellenge is actualy pretty easy against most alien players if you have good melee skills. also the sniper doesn't kill anything but the human in one shot and only if you manage to hit them in the head. and you can kill enemies faster with the shotgun if you use the double barrel shot. although against the average alien player the shotgun and the grenades are a little cheap as they take away the aliens ability to fight close range. and seeig as that's all the aliens got it can be annoying.

@MrBashubash actualy no. the trohy kills and such look cool and all but they are probably the worst way of obtaining kills. that is, if you intend to win the match lol. the grab kills will net you about 1 kill per minute AT BEST. while if you develope your melee skills you can get a kill about every 10 to 15 seconds. not to mention the grabs almost always get you killed, whereas if you get good at killing people quickly with melee you can move on much more quickly

@KingdomRa Melee kills: better killing speed, lower chance of death, more maneuverability during attacks. Trophy kills: looks more awesome, harder to pull off. I think we know which way the cool meter tips between these kill types, not to mention which is more satisfying to use against that crap-sack that killed you repeatedly with plasma/tail spam :P

@mene1in I disagree on Two of those points. 1 pulling off a trophy kill is as easy as a lunge attack in the case of a human or alien as it will frequently knock them down and leav you with an insta kill served up on a silver platter, or a heavy attack in the case of the predator, just heavy and run behind and boom another insta kill. not hard but also not effective in gaining a high number of kills. also i would say the guy who just killed 3 or 4 people before dieing wins the coolometer.

The first two came out for PC (and I think PS2 as well for the second) in 1999 and 2001 respectively. It's just confusing because they pull that annoying modern trick of naming the new part in the series like it's the first. Wolfenstein and Turok did that as well.

Did you know a shotgun has secondary fire mode? It fire 2 shells at the same time so it gives twice the damage to your opponent.

For flamethrower if you use 2nd firing mode, notice it squirts its fuel (it drains your fuel quicker than primary fire) out, then it leave a pool of gasoline then light it if preimary fire as your opponent approaching. Useful for flame barrier at doors, gates & entrance.

The Smartgun needs fixing!

- More Power - atleast in SP.

- The orginal sounds.. now it sounds more like a minigun; but a weak one.

- At this time, with that graphics there should be a tracking animation if the gun targets something automaticly....

For those who don't know; the "arm" which connects the gun with the marine is sorta robotic and automaticly targets enemys in sight.

Therefor the gun have to "follow" the target and not just have somekind of tracking-bullets...
