  • Sick groovey fuckers.

  • this is still good!

  • flash back....... still kicking in!

  • Who is the girl in the video?

  • i'm amazed the man behind throbbing gristle made music like this as well.

shows how diverse of a musician genesis is.

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • reminds me of The Clash on acid (fukng cool!)

  • reminds me of The Clash on acid

  • This is how music should be. Yes. There are standards in Music. Do we see such music now a days?

Even today's Experimental groups are going down in quality.

  • @DeadlyDreamerX I agree, i cast about these days to find something worthwhile to listen to and i usually end up with somethng defunkt by about ten years at least, just recently i heard something by a group called "hoodoo engine" and while their hearts seem to be in the right place with references to hp lovecraft and david ickean crackpotism the overall sound comes across to me as present-day Samael meets powerman 5000, neither of which could hold a candle to this shit

  • @MrFecalimpaction here in the UK kids go to performance art courses etc, it stifles them by seeming to teach them to think musically like an A-Z of, rather than BE it. also they dont have any doorways into alternative realities as such, just mere market options. so to them its just narrow surface rebellion. the good stuff is out there, but access isnt so easy dispite the "I.T. revolution". parallel to this is the fact that many big corporaattempting to make natural seed planting illegal.

  • Want to see real enlightenment techniques? Is your quest for truth beginning to feel like running around in circles?intuition, healing powers, it is all part of human nature. This is the time to lift the veil THE-HIDDEN-SPIRITdotCOM .

  • 懐かしい!

  • Cheap and predictable. No wonder I blew him off stage in 86

  • @purelandmedia

    And who exactly are/were you?

  • @AlmightyScubba

    Jon Christian

  • @purelandmedia - When you invent a musical genre and remain relevant almost 40 years later you let me know and I'll be impressed.

    Meanwhile, I'll stick with Gen.

  • @zzGRENDELzz

Not sure I agree with you. The invention of genres is, at best, circular reasoning. Did The Beach Boys invent a genre? Or Jethro Tull? What is genre anyway. Is classical music a genre? It spans almost 600 years - the first 200 without black notes. How did it get to be that between 1970 and today 500 new genres have been (invented). Genesis is not an innovator - He is simply a strange fellow.

  • @purelandmedia quite right. I remember that gig as it happens. I recall turning to someone and we simultaneously announced how expensive and surprising you appeared in comparison. I bet that'll put old genesis right off his cornflakes

  • @insideahorse

The scene backstage was insane. He was livid. The look he gave me was lethal. I did not know the man but one thing is certain after I saw his ranting - He is terribly insecure.

Thank you for your comment. I have been a producer for 34 years and I have worked with very talented musicians. That night was an experiment. I regularly play folk and blues.

  • I smell hippies.

  • Far-out! Some of the only techno I can listen to.

  • w.t.f.........

  • @Bitchslapya It's called "awesome."

  • Great to see Gen just rockin' out....yeah great tune/video!! Gen rules! 93.

  • hi, can you please upload the psychic tv album "sugarmorphoses"? i am looking for one of the tracks on that disc called "decoder," i think "decoder 4" but it may be called "decoder" and something other than "4." if you upload the "sugarmorphoses" disc, it would be most Mysterious.

  • this track/video single handedly changed my life forever. thank you gpo, wherever you are...

  • I used to get such a high just going out and dancing to this kind of stuff - no drugs, just bodies, bass and light - a floor full of wriggling people like we were all spermatozoa flailing upstream together to the source of all creation.

    Miiss it.

  • @zzGRENDELzz trust me. its so much more fun on a trip. this song is just wow when tripping

  • @zzGRENDELzz I totally agree with you...miss the good ole days...

  • Trancendental...........

  • u need acid to cope with the repetitiveness of this type of music

  • they sampled kraftwerk!

  • jesus, absolute stomper

  • remix of kraftwerk <3 GENIUS,

  • rip

  • RIP Peter Christopherson

  • Aceeeid :)

  • WAX TRAX VHSSSSS!!!! 1

  • can anyone tell me what album this is on?

  • @darkwaver111 tekno acid beat

  • @darkwaver111 RE Joy by PTV; it's on TECHNO ACID BEAT. The original did not say PTV but DJ Doctor Megatrip... it is an awesome album.

  • groovy music man

  • Innovative

  • This was so good.Still sounds great now.

  • Another song I have been looking for, for some time! I love this old stuff! I miss the good old days when things were new and less polished. These guys are pioneers of sorts! Love it!

  • man paula is sooo hot

  • PTV were way ahead of their time with this music, and vid. Shame they are not acknowledged for that. x

  • @katuhtuh : welcome in the psychic world !!!

look also for Die Form & Neubauten , geat delights ;-)))))

thanks or this amazing video to the owner , pure PTV

  • Comment removed

  • @katuhtuh I almost called you are an idiot.. although I guess I cant blame you with how the little gnome gen writes Alaura / Paula out of the PTV history

  • babies are born in the hospital .... lol

  • Old D-Mob ???

  • awesome

  • I loved Genesis P.Orridge soooooo much when he was a he, and I still love "it" now that (s)he is ... whatever !

  • @RobertoTifi you are fucking stupid

  • @00zardoz I turned into a monkey....it was kinda fun though.

  • haha ERIS! So tru.

  • fokking goed acid

  • perfect perfect perfect !!!

  • perfect song ! ^^ love it soooooooooo much :)

  • This cut is on Jack the tab, double album, I saw them at Tipatina's in 1990 with this line up, lots of fun, with a lot of New Orleans Voodoo in the air during that show, and I aint lieing.

  • how many people can handle the acid in public?

  • nice gifts from the light bringer, shine on!

  • fucking great!

  • Great track and video!

I'm not against the idea of having MDMA, Pure Acid, tape loops and even a laptop ( oldschool machines are expensive today!)! ;-)

  • triiiiiiiiippppppinn ballllllllllllllssssssssssssssssssssss

  • It doesnt sound like Lavey, are you sure its not from something they made, do have a source for that info j/w thats interesting. Yes, Its obvious theyres some wierd backwards words being said, but it sounds more like musical singing, lol.

  • Geil!!!

  • Hellfire...a horrible missile. A Great PTV song.

  • ah, the golden days of acid house.

one of my favorite tracks by PTV.

btw, did anyone here know Anton LaVey is reciting the Lord's Prayer backwards in this song?

it's really in-the-background and hard to hear, but if you listen real close you can hear during certain parts of the song.

  • whatever happened to thon lass wi the black hair?

  • How did Gen get his *IT* factor ?

  • Fred Giannelli had alot to do with them at this time. P Orridge is like a Warhol charcter, a lightning rod for other peoples creativity. All though he is not removed from his subjects like Warhol, but totally immersed in them. Giannelli went on to do alot of good techno and acid house on labels like +8 under names like 'kooky scientist'.

  • Is it just me or does music nowadays seem far less artistically progressive than stuff from 20-30 years back. What the fuck happened! I blame Madonna and New Kids on the Block. The seeds sown back in the late 80's and early 90's by those two acts have caused the music world to stagnate. Weeds are strangling the flowers in the garden of music.

  • It's caledld more rapidly encroaching corporate subversion of already subversive movements. Hip-Hop & all others have been corrupted aswell.

Poetic what you said though. Much better :)

  • Ha, thnks, although your right of course. The truth is however that old subversive genre labels such as Hip Hop, Rock, e.t.c have been neutralised by the mainstream media machine quite some time ago, and seeking artistic salvation through these channels is a dead end. Truly credible and subversive, i.e underground music is already here, we just don't know what it's label is yet, well the mainstream doesn't anyhow, but when it does, then it to will have ceased to have the power it currently does.

  • Right-0n Brethren or Sistren

    STAY-STRONG

  • *Wipes tear from eye and sniffs* 'I'll try'.

  • nice video. The sound sounds kind of generic (though definatley way better than most acid house from that time period) but i especially like the timing of the cuts in the video.

Not my favorite psychic tv song, but very cool. thanks for putting the video up.

  • Viva Genesis!!!

  • she is sexy as all hell

  • who's the chick dancing in this video

  • Does anyone have a video to the song Blue Heart?

  • Stands out nicely from the norm of 1988 acid house

  • eins-zwei-drei-vier-fünf-sechs-sieben-acht!!!

  • you must see thee old concert video "JOY" !!! it rocks your soul - heart - and BODY !!! love it !!!

  • if everyone in the world was a bit more like Gen... itd be fucking funny

but seriously i think what gen has done is amazing i just dont have the balls [bad phrasing] to do it

  • love this song...

  • peak hour `93 plizzzz

  • i want you Genesis...with your boobs, with your attitude and your acid house...

  • Paula was with him during PTV. Cosey-Throbbing Gristle.

  • it was Paula

  • ~dr.megatrip comes through again~ haha~

  • oh wow is that Paula or Cosey?

Genesis was a lucky bastard :)

  • this is fucking class

acid industrial and genesis doesnt look like a hamsandwich :D

  • I love the way these nutters dance.

  • art all the way.....there is an urban myth that Right Said Fred (I'm too sexy), was from P.T.V.

just wondering if anybody else heard that one...and before you blast me...I remember a myth about U2 and Virgin Prunes and that one turned out to be true.... =] ..|.,

    ^J^ (+) ^Y^

  • interesting work of art or cheesy 80's acid house???

  • wheres just drifting

  • If you like experiment in music, just try TACUARA NOD, available on youtube

  • psychic tv bringing house music to america..........

  • Thee everlasting groove

  • You must divide this world into real and unreal... in the real one, it is with love, goodness, mercy and holy things; in the unreal one, it is with all sins, sickness, evil and death.

  • so death is unreal? hmmm, my cat that got hit by that big fucking truck is just faking it?

  • Comment removed

  • Genesis not invented acid.

Psychic TV: the best, but acid= Dj pierre & spanky

  • they were fun I even took acid that time too.

  • So many fond memories wrapped up in PTV. It brings me so far back... If only I could slip back and enjoy those days one more time.

  • Not so keen on GPO's post-Gristle creative output but this song's damn good. 5 stars.

  • Wow .This is not an interesting update on t.G. chris and cosey or coil .Real musicians with ideas could do so much more .Intellect can talk about this but listening is nothing here.T.g. is deadcabaret Voltaire stayed interesting longer.

  • yes yes fuckin yyyyeeeeessssss

  • what more can you say ???

  • Aaaah... the good ol' days.

Who needs laptops and MDMA when you have tape loops and Pure Acid?

  • Good,premium link...

  • rinse the fuck out, Genesis P-orridge.

  • Good stuff. I prefer TG and other industrial music, but this type of electronica is still pretty enjoyable.

  • Totally agree with DJSadida. In its time was unique

  • A classic

Jack the tab was a great record

  • Very true

  • Electro and Detroit Techno started before Psychic TV. Juan Atkins started putting out records in 1981, Afrika Bambaata before that, and Kraftwerk (obviously) well before that. I would say PTV was pretty instrumental in the Acid House scene, and that TG was instrumental in many, many, many things.

  • Thanks for posting this, more people should join the Temple. I have Joy, Black and Transmissions 8.

  • tun tun turun....... turururun tun turun.......

  • Did you notice how this song sounds like present day electro

  • love this song. The video really cool as well. They look they having fun.

  • Genesis claims that when he referred to a sample as an "acid take", the term "acid house" was invented. One thing about Gen, though, is that you can't just believe everything he says.

  • PTV has a magical license to kill back then...

unit45x watch my movies just watch them on youtube

  • the acid PTV was great fun, all nighters at Brixton academy in london, But i have gone back to watch their last few gigs and Oh boy is some thing missing

  • This is back when thee shows were totally awe-some to go to. Thee feelings ov l-ov-E were flowing as freely as the drugs. Great tim-e-s.

  • This is the era where he concidered himself the creator of UK Acid House.

  • they were fun I even took acid that time too.

  • damn, those old PTV shows look like a lot of fun. wish i was there. thanks for posting.

  • Yeah, before and after being exiled from their native UK, PTV decided to go Techno. Chris & Cosey were still the superior musicians that spun off from TG. Gen always just wanted to be a god himself. The fart performance stuff gets old after a while. Besides

it takes new generations of people to scare into

thinking you're some majician or something.

  • you left sleazy out of this, aside from being a good video director Coil is far more interesting and uses dance music in a much more subversive way.

  • this is somthing great!!

  • real music

  • Yes! Thanks :)

  • love the video, thanks for uploading it
