Le Carre' is a bit precious at times, but he does make a good yarn, that's for sure. Well, if you're going to be remaking 70's series (Galactica, etc) make it a good one, eh?

Oldmann vs Guinness? no contest, the win goes to Sir Alec and the 6 hour BBC series from 1978 for capturing the speed (or lack thereof) and feel of LeCarre's novel. But I'll still see this, looks very promising.

I have to say it looks pretty crappy. And compared to the BBC TV series from the late 70s starring Alec Guinness as George Smiley, this is rather lame. Fake wigs and makeup, too! Oh, well... too bad.
