The song is in vonlenska ("hopelandic"), a fictitious idiom created by Sigur Rós. It doesn't mean anything, so you can interpret the "lyrics" as you like. That's why Sigur Rós are so great.

And it fits really well with the movie.

The filmmakers claim that they just filmed the animals au natural and that the cat playing Milo fell off the cliff. My own personal opinion is that if they did stage the cliff scene, they would have at least run the camera at high speed to achieve true slow motion photography.
