Sony PCM D50, best digital recorder for guitar

No offense guy but you play the guitar better than he. Nice contrast... What the heck does rolled-off mean in the previous comment? I can't imagine somehow wanting to be rolled-off, but maybe rolled-on would be worse?

The Olympus LS-11 records exceptionally well too - it's about $300 at present. I don't have one, but I was astounded at its quality and am toying with the idea of getting one to replace the dated and bulky equipment I have. There are many marginal field recorders - but a few stars. The Sony PCM-D50 being one - the Olympus LS-11 another - and the Zoom H4N... though only the Sony & Olympus gave a completely uncolored and uncompressed rendition to my ears. The Zoom seemed a bit rolled-off.

may I ask you something? So the sound we hear is recorded with the sony pcm. Did you sync the audio with the video or.. how did you do it? I'm interested in record a video with good sound and I'm a newbie in these things. please help ^^. nice video! bach ftw!

I use final cut for the video, and sync the audio with a software called Pluraleyes

Patrick has solid and good performance on the Bach piece. He possess the ease demeanor and rigth attitude for Bach music. Overall very good tones from the guitar. Kindly encourage Patrick to play more Bach music.

I used Sony PCM-D50 to record guitar as well. The quality of the recording is first rate.

Very nice. I was looking at buying the Tascam DR-100 recorder and found you. I will be using it to record my practice sessions. Nice HD video also. What tools did you use to record this.I noticed two video recorders going. Any suggestions before I go out and buy something.
