Gene showed up in Canada to sign 2 bands. Out of all the bands that showcased for him...all the bands in this great country that "gave the world Joni Mitchell and Neil Young" (Gene's words to George Strombo on The Hour) he picks: Down With Webster and Stereos. What the fuck? 2 of the shittiest bands I've ever heard who won't be around long enough to be forgotten.

Lefsetz made a huge strategic error, and if you read his blog, it is obvious because he does it all the time. He gets very insulting to the people that he doesn't like, and that begs the question as to why he needs to do this. He also kisses asses of those who have given him a modicum of attention, unlike Simmons, a well-known asshole, notwithstanding.  Bob fauns over other egregious assholes like Bruce Allen and his "buddy" Jake Gold. His antics demonstrate only his obvious insecurity

Gene Simmons is far and away the BIGGEST TOOL the music industry has ever had to suffer through. And anyone here who thinks Lefsetz doesn't know exactly what he's talking about, is a complete fool. If Gene were even remotely right about Lefsetz being a nobody, why did he (1) go so upset over the email, and (2) wind up debating him in a public forum like this?

what lefsetz has done, besides spout his opinions in his newsletter, is this: he apparently has a law degree, but he doesn't practice, so i guess he's a failed lawyer. as far as i know, he was fired from the only real music industry job he ever had, which was at sanctuary.

so basically, yeah... he's done nothing that deserves any respect whatsoever.
