  • Somehow I have never seen this video before. A reminder of how precious this band was.

  • I saw this band at least 15 times in various cities over the years. But the ultimate was King of the Past played with a string ensemble accompaniment at the Harbourfront in Toronto. Unbelievable. Thanks for all the memories, lads.

  • I was in the studio while Dave Allen laid down his Violin tracks for this.

I soooo miss these guys. :(

  • That this song wasn't a massive hit is proof that mankind is doomed. Martin Tielli is a fricking genius. So is Tim Vesely. As is Dave Bidini. Dave Clark is merely extraordinary. I would sell my kidneys to go to a live show.

  • @Creaulx Saw them twice. Now I have 4 kidneys.

  • @IedfIoyd I saw them at least five times, including a live performance of Whale Music shortly before they broke up. I have no liver.

  • my favourite album of all time I would love to see the band live but I dont think they will ever come to germany sadly!

  • I love this song very much. The guitar at the end is so moving.

  • go rheos. really miss them living in oz

  • I miss them and I live in Toronto :)

  • Hey if anyone could tell where to download "Whale Music" that would be greatly appreciated! I need this on my iPod now!!!

  • i'm not sure. google....plus band name....plus album title.... plus mediafire....not that pirating is condoned. at all.

  • this song gets me every time. Not too many songs can give me that feeling. Its a song that speaks to my soul. Perfection. I agree with you all......

  • Martin's phrasing on the first guitar solo is very steel guitar-like. Even after all these years, Whale Music continues to move me.

  • definitely one of the greatest songs ever written, from one of the greatest albums ever produced. All 17 tracks: ingenious.

  • Such a beautiful song. I could be wrong, but, I get the feeling Sarah McLachlan perhaps indirectly was influenced by it when she wrote "Building A mystery". Listen to the chords. It's not necessarily a bad thing. It is an incredible piece of music. It rocks and has great emotional impact. I had to learn it on guitar. God, Canada can be so out to lunch on who the truly worthwhile bands are. Oh well, their loss.

  • It`s so sad they broke up. At least I saw their final concert. My favourite band...ever.

  • I totally agree, but you know who else sounds influenced by them: Modest Mouse, especially the songs with the wavery voice of Martin Tielli, and it's apparent in the subject matter as well. I do wonder. They influenced a lot of bands, they were so great!

  • I just can't get enough of this song...Something about it just gets me...and the guitar solo...WHEW....piercing...

  • Dude, Same here. I get chills every time the guitar solo comes in
