You'll still be missing so many things that separate the lancer from the evo. AWD, S-AWD control, and active stability. For the extra money you would dump into a reg lancer, you could by an evo. I think they are going for 26k now with rather low miles.

first of all, the evo x gsr is a 5 speed not a six speed like its predecessors. If your galant has a manual transmission, I haven't looked at the specs but it should be a five speed. I haven't seen a 4 speed manual transmission in ages. And more gears don't mean more acceleration at all. It can mean it's capable of a higher top speed and that's about it. And a lancer and a lancer evolution are completely different cars and the evo would rape you no matter how long the race was.

that has nothing to do wit hthe fact that most turbo 4s have a stick shift. Turbo 4s come with stick shift because people enjoy manual transmissions more than automatics. Nobody wants an automatic when they are tearing up some canyon roads.
well, I agree with the canyon road, but i did have a mustang 5.0 with the stick, and when I revved it up off the line, it was quicker than my friends 5.0 with automatic, plus having more gears leads to better transition between shifts and less loss of power multiplication. Sticks in same or similar cars will almost always be quicker off the line, due to being able to rev the engine to it's powerband.

yes its loaded w/everything and the FQ360 is the one with like 300whp but its a Euro model only.

Im holding the camera with my left hand(thumb and index finger) and driving with the other 3 fingers. Also I'm actually looking thru the camera to see the shift points ... thats why they are a little off.

What you need to do is buy a greddy profec b controller crank it up to 30lbs
Put penut butter in you intake
Get a short throw shifter
and you will certainly run 8s with reliability
