@annxiong, it's kinda interesting how you have two great singers, and one person might like one and another person might like the other. I know Adele is a great singer, but I've just never been into her. I however LOVE!!! Brandi, I can't say why, but I do!! I actually love the little bit of country in her voice too!!

and to all the Brandi fans, it almost feels like this song is not complete:) I'm just not used to hearing it without "again today"

there's something about the matter-of-fact way she sings it, like she's so okay with the pain and has come to terms with what she has to do, that's heartbreaking.

I think Adele's version gives more soul and emotion, but Brandi's version seems like a less emotional version, not in a bad way AT ALL. This version doesn't make me choke up and want to cry, which is nice :P

@CaptainHarryBerry don't confuse soul and emotion for style, and dramatic interpretation. Brandi feels just as much, but she isn't packaging it in a way that is predictable in how it will effect people. this version take a bit more thought, a bit more reflection, a bit more of everything.

@TheDrowsyMadcap Both are exceptionally great and pack just as much emotion in. But Brandi's voice isn't my cup of tea. Adele's voice is a just bit more soothing and a little less choppy. Less "gulping" and southern pronunciation. Not that I have a problem with it, but generally it grinds uncomfortably on my ears.

Adele is a mainstream artist? HA. She is not a mainstream artist... Just because her album has been selling well right now doesn't mean she's mainstream. Katy Perry, Kesha or Beyonce those are mainstream artist. Adele, if you ask me, made this song her own. She sounds beautiful on it and puts just as much emotion into the song as Brandi. Both verisons are different though and I can personally appreicate them both. I have both verisons on my iPod.

I'm sorry that this video is being subjected to Adele fans who are really just commenting to prove themselves to be sheep, and loyal to whatever is IN right now.. the IN being Adele. Anyone can slow a song down, and the fact that people can't see the beauty in the creator of the song, and her version just proves my point. Adele, for what she is, a pop artist/celebrity, is better than most. But just because you like that cliche style of songwriting doesn't make you anything more than a sheep.

@larwhelan OMG you should listen to more Brandi ..Adele is just normal...Brandi can sin with the talent of the likes of Patsy Cline, etc..plus she writes with soul and Adeles version just doesn't have that sadness and feeling to it..Brandi is SO underrated and Adele is just mediocre. BUT most people prefer mediocre..example Brtiney, tc.....Brandi's writing is amazing...I WILL is a great song by her.....

Altough I'm also an Adele-fan, this version has got something more fragile the way Brandi sings it. Love this live version the most...she's got me already after only te first words, very beautiful and empathizes the song so well. Her expression and the way she is (her personality) shows me more of the heart in comparison to Adele...
