Porsche make the best cars in the world, the car is more powerful than claimed by the factory!!!! its the opposite of what Ferrari does, this 997 turbo was given for 185mph, now it does 200!!!! PORSCHE THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE

Porsche's quoted times, speeds and horsepower are always conservative (i.e. pessimistic) - other manufacturers (ahem, Ferrari in the 1980s) were always hopelessly optimistic.

This is why in a straight drag race between 2 supposedly equal cars, the Porsche would normally win.

let me tell you that the first cars got the steering wheel on the right side. and most other things like planes and ships still have it there. the german word ´steuerbord´ (eng. starbord) is a nautic term for the right side.

@sporthamster83 yeah there might be a lot of truth in it BUT i think it is not 100%correct because if i´m remembering right the first car had the steering wheel in the middle ! and you have to remember that porsche comes from germany where the steering wheel is one the left and most people want to shift with their right hand;)

stimmt eigentlich... das erste automobil wurde in der mitte gesteuert.

rechtslenker sind allemal hässlich, da stimme ich dir zu - und teuer für unsere automobilhersteller, die die fahrzeuge für den südostasiatischen, englischen und australischen markt adaptieren müssen.

ansonsten ist mir das ziemlich egal ... ich fahre einfach mit dem motorrad auf der insel!

the speedometer needle is VERY optimistic. the gt2 read 208 in a motor trend test while the car was "only" doing 199.8. still i wouldnt be suprised if the new turbo could :)

that's because they were using GPS to measure speed on an oval. the GPS measures straight line speed , it's not accurate for measuring radial speed.
