Really depends on the SATA controller it uses. Some just don't work with flashing and so you will have to use find a more compatible pci card that can like the VIA VT6421A chipset PCI interface.

@Arthur1591 You need the CK3 lite - it's like 20 or 30 bucks, that powers it. If you have a desktop you can try the onboard SATA for data, if that works (it shows your drive info in jungle flasher) you're good. If not, you can spend ~10 bucks on a VIA SATA PCI card for your desktop. The x360usb is only if you want to use USB. It basically converts USB to SATA so you can plug your drive in. It also has a driver embedded (apparently) in it, so you can't just use a different USB -> SATA.

@ballhogrod Just don't go online when the drive is flashed. Just turn auto login off. You can always just play games when not signed in to Xbox live. Or just unplug your ethernet cable from your Xbox 360. When you want to go online just flash it to the original firmware.

I was going to do this, but decided not to because I like being able to go on Xbox Live and look at all the gaming news, download demos, DLC, etc. I decided I'd rather just rough it out and buy my games.

is the x360 pro all you need to flash the xbox 360 slim? i have a macbook pro with windows for bootcamp. to power the drive cant you just use the wire for the xbox and turn it on instead of getting the CK3 pro? Please help
