@ironmadion55 We don't know for sure even today. And he might have got some other disease other than the plague. Nobody know, as I said, for sure why or how the plague disappear/migrated...but the plague came back I think 3 times to Europe....but didn't kill as much.

there is one thing i never understood about these shows.

WHY on earth do they speak the translated lines in a weird, foreign accent???

If you think about it, it suggests, that the author had this silly dialect, or he was writing in english.

But he did not. All these people has written in their own language, or latin maybe, so theres no reason to turn these people into the mario bros.

Its nearly impossible to tell what accent people spoke with at these times. During the plague in England, the upper classes would have spoken French while the rest would have spoken English or rather something like English as we know it today.

I think I did as well. Sorry. But I think accents are a difficult call. I live in France near the Swiss and Italian borders and even here accents vary a lot. French with Italian accents, French-Swiss with German accents and a lot of French that speak 'old' French that sounds really bizarre. Not helped when I speak French with a Welsh accent.

The one thing I wont forgive was Robin Hood and William Wallace with American accents. No problems with the accent but not for these.

Anyway I only stated, that if they are quoting a phrase translated from french to english, it doesn't make any sense to add a french accent, when they say it. That's like if they'd dub a western in french, but give all characters american accent.

That is actually true. For some reason, the fleas that carried the black plague did not like the smell of horses. Thats why in medieval paintings of the black plague, you would see people with horses alive and well, while everyone around them was dying.
