up to this point, the slide & shoot, Max Payne 3 & RE6 are the only games introduced it. while others not. so don't be stupid saying RE6 is a rip off Gears of War or Dead Space or anything. RE4 started this whole thing, then Dead Space & Gears of War using the same mechanics. differences between other games, RE games nowadays, you have to push which the fucking buttons when you watching the cutscenes!

The new characters IMO the mercenary dude probably is Alex Wesker because he has the same moves as Wesker demonstrated in 5 or maybe Hunk from RE2 and his partner I am still going based on instinct that its Sherry Birkin. Granted the voice is strongly similar to Ashley but the character models look different with this game being a prequel to 5 I doubt its Ashley. The woman with Leon I don't know just a new character I suppose.

@Scene68 i don't know, i don't really think it's a prequel. well you see, it's actually 10 years, Japanese time. so that makes it 11 years after the leap year and daylight saving time. probably the US Capcom doing some error with translating words. since Revelations is already a prequel. the movie Degeneration being a prequel. Operation Raccoon City being a prequel although it's non-cannon. possibly Damnation movie also a prequel. that's a lot of prequel.

I am a bit disappointed only on one thing and that is re adding Chris into the game again. I mean we already had to endure him in 5 and then he is going to be in Revelations and now this game. Out of all the characters they could've chosen they could have went with like Barry or Billy Cohen or even Claire. Claire hasn't been seen in the game since Code Veronica so I think they should've given her a spot in this game. Maybe for a part 7 if they decide one day to make one.

People would assume its her not just because of the voice but the fact Leon is in the game. Sherry was more tied to Claire's story so it might not be here but will have to wait and see.

@evan258 probably this is the way Capcom of making this game. i mean, for Leon's part, that's totally reminds me of the previous RE before the 4th one. dark-scary atmosphere, definitely the old RE fans going to love it. while for Chris, it's more to military way, have teammate like RE5, so that new fans who were introduced by the RE5 games will like it. as for the new guy, possibly Alex Wesker, is more like in RE4. you have to run, protect, while you being chase.

no offense but RE isn't really as horror as people thought. RE games weren't really scary. the reason it's scary back then cuz you played the game when you a kid. everything that dark & ugly, a kid will consider it scary. but now i play the game, somehow it's hilarious kind of way. except for RE2 & 3 tho, where you being chase! that's scary. even if you manage to kill them, they definitely come back to chase you. but Silent Hill, yes, that's scary no matter what. Amnesia, motherfucking horror!

I've noticed that the Leon segments appear to be more horror-based, with more zombies and fewer BOWs, whereas the Chris segments are more shooter-based, with an emphasis on cover and BOW fights. A few set-pieces appear to show up here, too, on both sides. My personal idea is that this is Capcom's way of reconciling the disparate approaches of RE: ORC and Revelations. I'm pretty psyched, even if the Chris segments seem rather shooter-y. They appear to really be trying hard to get back (cont'd)

It's hard to tell about how each segment may go. I do agree that Leon S. Kennedy's segments from the trailer seemed to have hordes upon hordes of the undead. But in all fairness, the japanese worship this character- he has appeared in two feature films, Resident Evil Degeneration, and a new CGI based RE film to be released later in the year. In no way shape or form will they dumb down his sections and add more zombies and less BOW's. I think he may face various BOW's.
