This is a lame plane compared to the P-51 Mustang whcih had bigger wings and the Merling Engine could not be beat. In addtion to the fact that Gemrnay did not have four engine bombers to attack strategic allied targets. Sorry buts its a lame plane.
@LottoWinner999 always appreciated your comments lotto...tho' i'm not sure your correct regarding the TA-152 as an inferior aircraft. Take another look at its performance capabilities ..cheers
@spottydog4477 The Ta 152 lacks balance + fusalage is to long + it has a small tail of the ME-109 which hindered tight turns. Problems with superchargers, pressurized cockpits, engine cooling system unreliable + landing gear failed. TA-152 had 7 victories = 4 defeats, P-51 handled it well + P-38 could easily take it out and the new Navy F4U-4 Corsair AKA Whistling Death was the top plane at end of WW2. Germany lost WW2 cuz they had no 4 engine strategic bombers fleets and no aircraft carriers.
The Ta152 does not have the Me109 tail. It was a new design tail that was larger than the D-series 190. A few late-war Fw190Ds were also equipped with the larger Ta152 tail and you can see the difference.
@LottoWinner999 Oberleutnant Kurt Welter shot down over TWENTY planes in a Me 262,, Oberstleutnant Heinrich Bär shot down SIXTEEN in his 262......and other had double digit kills in a 262..........not too shabby
@spottydog4477 There was not enough time and fuel for the ME-262 to claim that many planes sober and admit you lost but please no lies. In the end you lost WW2 because of USAAF overwhelming air superiority!
Pilot Rudi Driebe III./JG 301 flew combat in the Ta 152 in Jan. '45 and recalled that the Ta-152 could turn inside a Mustang during a turning dogfight (after a couple of turns.) Most who flew the Ta-152 noted that it had excellent turning ability. However, as you said, it was late in war and the Ta-152 had multiple problems that were never fully corrected (tail sized increased twice.) P.S. There is no combat record of a triple Tuskegee Me262 air victory.
@FiveCentsPlease Please watch this video on Youtube,"TUSKEGEE BLACK AMERICAN PILOTS DEFEAT NAZI JETS. " USAAF pilots that splashed "Ta 152 / Fw 190 Doras" said they were easy kills. The tail on German Aircraft were and was a real problem and its been proven the best fighter planes have large tails and the Mustang started that tradition.
This video describes nothing on Dora or Ta152 encounters. It does describe a single mission with three Me262 kills, but not credited to one pilot, which you have alleged in earlier comments.
@FiveCentsPlease It has small tail like the ME-109 and the P-51 put TA-152 down + it could not make a high speed tight turn as fast as the P-51. This was not a finished airplane introduced in the last days of the war. German technology cannot compare to the American Standard and just watch "TUSKEGEE BLACK AMERICAN PILOTS DEFEAT NAZI JETS". A USAF pilot splashed 3 ME-262s. German quality is a joke and the P-47 Thunderbolt could do 473-MPH. VS the Dora a desperate attempt that failed to late!
@LottoWinner999 you're a fucking idiot. the ta-152 had a bigger wingspan and the speed was similar to the mustank. i see you're back to spreading your stupidity on youtube. crawl back up your mother's ass where you belong
@LottoWinner999 Absolute nonsense. The D-9 and Ta 152 were fantastic planes. In fact, Adolf Galland said the Luftwaffe should stop askling for any fighters at all other than the D-9 and the Me 262, as they were the only fighters that could oppose the RAF and USAAF on equal terms. The 152 barely got into service at all, 25 or so operating with JG 301 flying airfield top cover for the 262s in early '45, so how in hell you can claim the plane was even really tested in battle beats me.
@ProjectFlashlight612 Well I can 7 were destroyed in battle and the M-262 was a Dog and its bark was worse than its bite. However in the end the USAAF strategy and better pilots easily defeated the Luftwaffe with overwhelming superiority in planes and pilots!
@ProjectFlashlight612 I have a little time to mention that the ME-262 was a piece of junk and because Germany did not have enough Precious Metal Alloys the engine could not withstand the heat and had to be replaced after 10 hours use. It was junk with jet engines and could not not make a tight and thats were P-52 nailed them. BTW I never said or claimed the Ta 152 was tested. It was another "Herman Goring Failure" and thats why it had problems and was never finished.
THIS COMMENT IS POSTED PAGE 2 + I SAID IT WAS NOT FINISHED!

I doubt much is going on with the Ta-152 or others while the NASM prepares to relocate to the new restoration wing at the Udvar-Hazy Center over by Dulles. I can't wait to see the Ta-151 finished, along with a few other Luftwaffe jewels that remain untouched.
Hmmm... I live really close to the Udvar-Hazy Center, but I've only been there once. Time for another visit. I was under the impression they had already made their move.
I'm also really looking forward to seeing the He-219 put back together, if that ever happens.
I need to make another trip and take a buttload of pictures, then post a slide show. I apologize in advance for having 90% of said slide show focusing on the Do-335, Ar-234, and FW-190.
combat ratios did the Luftwaffe the most harm
On the following 8th AF raids no more than 24 me 262s or 8 Ta 152s were available
date bombers fighters
1.1.45 850 725
1.1.45 1011 505
3.1.45 1168 589
Thus there were about 1,500 8th AF planes per raid against 24 (max) of the Luftwaffe.
In fighters alone it was typically 20 to 1 and often 50 to 1 in favor of 8th AF.

I wonder why they didnt choose the four bladed prop as standard?
I am building a model of this and i wonder about the antenna wire.
When the canopy is open, is it hangin down on the side or is it suported in some way?
Its impossible to see (blury pics)
roald1967 3 months ago
@roald1967
Later style blown canopies would have the antenna wire slack when open. Early flat canopies had a pulley system to keep the wire tight when open.
