I had the pleasure of seeing this concert live in, of all places, Pittsburgh, PA! My mother-in-law surprised my wife and me with a couple of tickets when we went up there to visit from San Antonio. The album had just been released and the concert is one of the greatest presentations I've ever seen. Her singing of the many standards was magnificent! I was also surprised at how many fellow Mexican-Americans there were in PA. The Benedum Center was sold out!!

I think its a little of both, she grew up w/ Spanish, but not comfortable speaking it in public, as she felt she had not used it enough to capture all the vocabulary and nuances for conversation w/ the cameras rolling. Era sólo un comentario al término que es bastante impreciso ya que incluso el idioma inglés tiene raíces latinas muy fuertes (3 de cada 10 palabras inglesas son de origen latino y son usadas en su estado mas puro) o el alemán (que al igual que el latín es un idioma declinable). En mi país hay que luchar contra la ignorancia. Gracias por los buenos deseos, yo también se los deseo a Ud. aunque lo próximo es Navidad (las Pascuas son en primavera si mal no recuerdo).
