@pyper97 They cancelled it because it was made in a styrofoam package, and new environmental laws (?--could have been just concerns) began prohibiting the use of styrofoam hamburger packaging. Since the styrofoam was what insulated the McDLT and kept the hot side hot and the cold side cold, they couldn't effectively make it anymore.

@4u57inc0v3110 I'm pretty sure it wasn't a law, just the changing mindset of consumers. You can still see styrofoam packaging nowadays.

In fact, since there are better insulating materials (and maybe even less polluting styrofoam), it might be able to make a comeback if there were enoughconsumer demand to make it popular again.

Though, honestly, while I like the idea of the condiments being cold, I don't like having both a cold and hot bun.

@pyper97 Two reasons they cancelled the McDLT: its container was made of polystyrene which helped insulate the burger, but McDonald's discontinued polystyrene due to environmental concerns. And second, consumers weren't thrilled about having to assemble the burger themselves - even though it never required any effort (but people in general are dumb!). Interesting though to see "George Costanza" when he had hair (maybe it's a wig)!
