more then one service actually adding response time? is that guy fucking retarded? there isnt any calling both services to see who is closer...u dispatch closest service from their BASE and if anyone else is closer then they should speak the hell up and take the call if they can....stupid fucker...damn i hate people who talk about EMS that dont know eough about it...

@hellfang1717 You are assuming that all ambulance services in the area can hear eachother on the radio to know if they are closer than another service. We cannot.
Jasper County has a rotating contract with 3 services. Acadian, Alpha Resce and a third company. It is not uncommon for an Acadian Ambulance to sit by just around the corner from a call in Buna while Alpha responds from Jasper because of the contract with the county.

@DeltaFoxtrotWhiskey3 The sherrif's office dispatches the units based on the schedule set up. One week Acadian runs 911 while Alpha does the hospitals and the 3rd provider runs the nursing homes. The next week they rotate. There is no way for the dispatcher to know which service has the closer ambulance to any particular call because we do not stay at the stations.

@DeltaFoxtrotWhiskey3 As for the being stretched so thin...that's just a load of crap. Acadian has the ability to add as many units as needed to respond to calls. It is not uncommon to have extra trucks brought up on less than 15 minutes notice, and there are crews that jump at the chance to come in.

This guy was probably fired prior to calling in, everything he said is a flat out lie. Besides, even if he was fired for it you make it sound like Acadian is evil for it...despite the fact that EVERY company in the United States would do exactly the same thing. happens. Go work for Lowe's or Home Depot or Disney or NASCAR and call about any unsafe conditions. See what happens. Not to mention the tone of this guy's voice had the "Im out to get this company" tone to it.
