@PadzMcDadz i don't think so. on the namek saga frieza said his reserved form was to help him keep his powers in check so even if goku was stronger than frieza's reserved form he wouldn't have been able to kill him cuz frieza hadn't transformed. in other words even tho frieza is a weakling in reserved form compared to final form the fact that his final form is the strongest it keeps him from dieing even in reserved form. hope that makes sense.

Knowing him, I doubt it. I highly doubt he's "learned his lesson", since he ended up showing mercy to Eis Shenron much later on in the series when he tried this. Goku probably ended up showing mercy to King Cold first, only for him to turn on him right afterwards, (like Frieza, Raditz, and Mercenary Tao did before), but then Goku was forced to deliver the final blow at the last second.

Between Goku's final battle with Frieza and his arrival back on earth, he receives a lot of training and learns to control his super saiyan power. So by the time he gets back to earth he's much stronger than he was on Namek, and probably could have killed robot Frieza. However, Trunks is the strongest character on earth during this moment.
