that's going to be a bad ass motor when it's done. I always liked those firebirds. my annt had one of those. I had a 1969 grand prix it had a 400 in it I really liked that car to. Laterrrr..
Dang that motor looks good in there. You have quite abit of room in there, header clearance. Does someone make motor mounts you can buy for that swap?
@turbocobra Ya there are mount kits you can buy, but I just made my own, figured I'll save money where I can and put it in other area's where I really need it
@timboody Well the primer I'm using is a direct to metal and high build primer all in one. It's RM DP226, it's quit pricey but compared to using epoxy, then high build, then sealer it kinda adds up the same. I hope that answers your question! If you have anymore just let me know!
@Rasd4Metta Ya I hear ya and I use the dtm primer as well. Its my understanding that the school of thought now is never to put bodyfiller on bare metal due to corrosion forming between metal and filler. Im not sure it makes a whole lot of difference but I still like the corrosion protection of having a good quality primer bond to the metal first before anything.
Im just starting on my 69 firebird 400 ragtop and doing a transam clone.
@timboody From all the people I talk to it seems like half of everybody feels you should do body work right over bare metal and the other half feel you should prime first, and from watching some of the pro's on youtube they seem to do it either way as well lol
Thats going to look killer, are you going to post some video's of it?

looks great but how come you don't epoxy prime all bare metal first and do bodyfill over top?
