Frank, I only once flew to Mammoth Airport but commercially but was a private pilot in the 1970s and 1980s and this was replaced by my interest in snowmobiling which I did in the Mammoth Lakes area. Mammoth Airport lies in the snow shadow of the Sierra Crest and its snowfall is much less than in town. It looks like an easier airport than Catalina but density altitude would be a big factor when it is warm here.

French Valley was the far point of my night cross country while I was earning my PPL. Real nice airport. I remember seeing a BD-5 microjet on display there. Didn't realize Mammoth had a runway... looks like a real one-horse airport. (Just how I like it.)
Your videos never cease to impress. Just the other day I saw 01B taking off out at Corona and I was tempted to run out by the runway just to see if I'd make it into one of your videos.
