I have been in love with this song since I was an infant. I have so many memories with this song, singing and dancing to it when I was an infant. I'm gonna b 22 this yr & I still sing & dance 2 it!!
Hoovercat... thank you for Uploading this AMAZING classic. Awesome! It is wonderful that you have found this Masterpiece from your archives. FANTASTIC! To all the mother fuckers complaining about sound etc. FUCK all you IDIOTS! There is not anything wrong with this video's sound. STOP complaining about bullshit and just enjoy it for what it is you dumb muthafuckers!
@AbleInTruth anyone can say what they like about it Able.....whether or not anyone gives a shit about their views is a different story....glad you liked it.
@Blues4evr - Ummm, geesh my comments are over 2 years old and some of you STILL need to respond? It's not even a slander - just an observation, and an accurate one too. Get over it.
Well done for keeping this in such good condition.
The background bumping noise (after the needle is down) is a damaged idler wheel. It is an easy job to remove the turntable and clean the simple mechanism. a tiny drop of oil in idler wheel and turntable bearings only. Clean any oil off reject cam gear and inside edge of turntable.
Great song; you can hear the fondness they have for each other in their bickering and how Otis is proud of who he is - "You straight from the Georgia woods"/"That's good!.." and you know they enjoy the little tiff as much as we love hearing it...
This is great! I love the sound of scratchy vinyl! Stax put out a double CD last year of their best artists, and this is on it. It would be really cool if someone had a video of Otis and Carla performing this live, and could post it on YouTube. Miss you, Otis.....
RT to DRESTA12345678910: It's 1:00 am. I should be asleep. But after reading your reply, I just HAD to put that CD on again! Who needs sleep, when you can listen to Otis and Carla instead?!
How i miss playing this on my long lost beloved gramaphone player (it was as big as my dining room table is now, and housed most of my vinyl collection when i was a mere child). Happy memories :-)
Sounds like the Chipmunks' version - a little sped up on the 45. One of the funniest songs ever written - Carla just tears into Otis' big country @ss and won't let up!!!
Yeah. It reminds me of what Steve Cropper said about Motown: "I don't know if they [at Motown] were listening to us [at Stax], but we were definitely listening to them."
I love Otis' attitude. She keep trying to put him down but Otis say " I'm a Lover". That's my boy. Six cadillac, five lincolns, I love them singing together. I can buy you minks, rats, frogs, squirrels.. Hilarious
Agreed, antiann52! Otis Redding is THE MAN! Love this tune. I also love his version of Respect better than Aretha Franklin's -- I know, blasphemy, but he wrote it!
It's not blasphemy, Aries, it's a great song , however they both bring their own special character to it. Oh, and I like Otis' version better to--I just like the way he sings it.
aww i need a nice tramp in my life... click on my name to hook me up

spread some water on your vynils with a little paint brush, it's a scratchkiller. Don't flood your dansette , pleez. Btw, sounds better than mp3...

Have you tried to spread some water on your vynils w/ a little paintbrush when playing? It's a scratch killer. Don't flood your turntable !

it's 'sped up' cos it's an untouched 1968 valve record player....playing a well bashed partied 45 of the same vintage....what do you expect?
