  • In my opinion, I felt as though this piece was sensitively directed and performed. I've never heard of the composer; it's not my favorite work. Sometimes I thought the sound was a little muddled, but that may have been the video or the piece itself. I, personally, like how secondary melodic lines were explored in the work; I find that to be important in many pieces of music. I really like that the purpose of the ensemble is to perform little performed/known works. I want to hear more :D.

  • Thanks! The Cathedral we perform at is the culprit; the acoustics are great, but VERY live, and made this piece a bit too intricate. Max Reger was a contemporary of Mahler's and LOVED counterpoint, perhaps too much -- check out some of his piano and organ works. Anyway, our next performance will be March 29th, and I'll be posting selections the beginning of April. Let's keep in touch!

  • No problem :). I really enjoyed the performance. I see; yeah, that can be difficult to work through. I really enjoy contrapuntal type pieces; a lot of my own music is contrapuntal in nature. What are you in this ensemble? I am excited to hear more of the music you guys perform.

  • I'm the director :)

  • Sweet! I thought you directed very sensitively and I can't wait to see more :D.

  • Very nice! where i can find the score?

  • the edition we used is published by compmusic, from amsterdam.
