  • Somehow this make you really rot for Yuri when he told Jack he was "the necessary evil", just to wipe off the smugness whom see the world "black and white" with his morality high horses about "evil bad guys".

Also really true about "My enemy's enemy is my friend."

  • NOT THE BEES, NOOAAH AHAUUWGG THEY'RE IN MY EYES, MY EYES!!. But really, Nick did great in this film. :D

  • 2:54 "I like you jack ! Or maybe not ! " =)

  • This movie is epicness itself. I dare to say one of the very best ive ever seen

  • "so you call me EVIL, but unfortunately for you, i'm a necesary evil".

    the best I ever heard

  • Comment removed

  • I feel like asking him in the end "u mad"

  • Let me tell you what will gonna happen ....this youl prepare youre self...........but in the end i will be release.............muhahahahahha....because i supply enemys of your USA enemy..i am a necessary evil

THe biggest arms dealer in the world is still Obama or any USA president

  • @86razva dude not just america but the UK France and Russia also sell just as much guns as we do

  • 4:36 - I THINK HE SHAT HIS PANTS

  • Wow i swear after Yuri said that t the agent. The agent seemed like he was going to cry cause deep down he knew thats exactly how it will happen. My agent friend thats the type of people goverments truly want corrupt and despicable and honest man like you they don't give a shit about

  • @GnosisZX yeah well even without government we would still massacre each other, humans are violent creatures just like any other predator, we are animals and that's the truth

  • @cartoonkingforeever agreed we haven't evolved much have we no matter how we claim we are evolved

  • Hell is just one part of reality, big part.

  • "I'm a necesary EVIL".

  • "i would tell you to go to hell, but i think your already their", damn that line must have stinged him bad, look at his reaction : 4:45

  • I don't know this movie but this scene is damn powerful.

  • 4:37 From this moment I love the tension in this moment, Valentine gulps and then Yuri looks at him and suddenly narrows his brows. So tense like hell.

  • I have never watched the LordOfWar before, but based on this wee speech I just might.

  • technically everyone dies of heart faliure :D

  • *knock knock*

    .....shit he's right

  • "...I am, how you say; 'Lord of War'"

    "WARLORD!"

"Yes but my way iz better"

--1 of favorite lines from this movie - thanks for the upload!

  • @banvir99999 The US has enemies. The enemies of US enemies fight them, so supplying them with weapons allows the US to fight its enemies without having to consider international rights and things of the like. The arm's dealer is friend with the enemies of US enemies, so he can supply them with weapons. It's like supplying Iraq with weapons to undermine Iran. Google it you'll find a lot

  • Ethan Hawke is one of the greatest cop actors in hollywood.

  • Damn im realy scared about this because its soooo fucking true.

  • sorry, I'm not an english speaker.

Is a "trophy wife" some kind of wife that someone uses to show it to other people like a social valuating object?

  • @cepomwa A trophy wife is like a wife that is supposed to be a great version of every man's idea of a wife. So, for example, beautiful, a good cook, a good mother, willing to have sex often, that type of thing.

  • @cepomwa Usually you have to have a lot of money to have a trophy wife. They're like a rich guy's wife.

  • @cepomwa Actually, you're quite correct. A trophy wife is the spouse of a wealthy man and serves the same purpose as a literal trophy. They are beautiful to look at and wonderful ways to start conversations with friends, but they serve no other purpose. You'll never hear "trophy wife" and "good cook" or "good mother" in the same sentence; they'd never dirty their hands doing such menial things.

  • @cepomwa Yup, men get trophys wife to show them off

  • Whenever someone asks me what is "Lord of war" about,or when I'm telling them about it,I just say :"Just watch it and you will realise why world peace is not possible".

  • @didi89s World peace can be achieved. Not by humanists, human right activists, whoever. By nuke. Never before those who decide to start war - kings, dictators, presidents or those who bought them - felt that they can actually die in this war. Thank to herr Oppenheimer, they will be vaporised for sure now.

So I believe that every country must have a nuke. Even the most "rogue" or "failed" state must have nuke. This is the only way to make war pointless.

  • @Glucharina Well of course it's technically possible, but very, very unlikely. The reason is humanity's oldest and best known enemy - GREED. Greed is the thing that,in my opinion,is the cause for about 80% of the world problems, and because 90% od the people in the world let it take over them,we live in such world.

I always say humanity needs just two things to succeed :common sence(to know good and bad),and undestanding to undestand those who don't.But even that's too much for many ppl

  • @didi89s Well, yes, it's greed. But war is completely rational enterprise, so common sense won't help. Maybe it would help if everybody refuse to go to war, so leaders won't be have any actual power, but it usually appear rational only in retrospect.

  • i love eathan hawk's expression in 3:30, its like he knows whats gonna happen XD

  • Today in Al-Jazeera: "Gun runners supply Libya rebels". And it goes: "Despite an embargo on imports into Libya, rebel fighters receive shiploads of weapons."

The fact is that "(...)some of those men are the enemies of your enemies while the biggest arms dealer in the world is (...) The President of USA, sometimes he needs a freelancer like [Yuri] to supply forces he can't be seen supplying"

    english,aljazeera,net/video/africa/2011/06/2011625154012835286,html

  • @leenkiss

the west arms them to the teeth...just like they funded and armed the Afghan mujahideen in Afghanistan (todays taleban)

  • @leenkiss fuck Al-jazeera, ok ?

  • @Kapov why?

  • @Kapov yeah why?cant handle the reality?

  • "I like you, jack.... well maybe not."

  • "Some of my friends are the enemies of your enemies "

How does this contribute to why he was released? I dont get it.

  • @banvir99999 If you had an enemy that is also enemy of the rest of your enemies, would you rather face the rest of your enemies on your own or have someone else, even an enemy of you, undermining the rest of your enemies? It's bound to the "divide and conquer" strategy.

  • 4:37 +

Some of the best non-spoken acting I've ever seen.

  • all your base are belong to us!

  • It gives me the chills EVERY DAMN TIME MAN!

  • "the biggest arms dealer in the world is your boss ... the president of United States who ships more merchandise in a day than what i do in a year"

  • guns don't kill people, i kill people with guns XD

  • @moj89 lol

  • Jack made 2 different accounts to dislike this video

  • epic scene

  • if the GOVERNMENT want WAR , then there is WAR, not for PEACE, but for PROFIT, and we help these sick people by paying taxes!!! f**k the NEW WORLD ORDER !!!!

Research it before its too late!!!!

  • @alppmrp and let remind you that we have made war and killed each other since our evolution so no matter what you do we will always kill one another and you sound like another one of those conservative wishful thinkers, dude the world doesn't work the way you want it to, that is how fate works deal with it and use some common sense and just remember that we elect these people into the government so it is our fault for failing this country as well

  • this inspires me to be a businessman

  • @TheDeni993 Why? He's lost everything so he can make money. For the thrill of selling guns. If anything, this is an incentive to live in a cave in Nepal. Spectacular script, though.

  • @TheDeni993

To be an illegal arms dealer?

    Good luck

  • 4:43 Ethan just wanted to cry.

  • guns don't kill people, people kill people

  • Obum e HillaryBlowJob didn't like this.

  • Bush Sr & Jr didn't like this

  • 2 people need to watch the movie

  • Ethan you've just been PWNED.

  • 4:37, POOR ETHAN!

  • "...the only question is: how do we arm another 11... "

    but in fact:

"...the only question is: why don't we arm another 11... "

    :)))))

  • Walker wouldn't have put up with that...

  • The truth hurts in this scene...

  • The lighting is so blatantly orange/blue

  • Best movie ever on this subject...

  • One man genocide. BADMAN!

  • The sad truth.

  • i fucking love this fucking movie

  • The terrifying thing about this is that it's true

  • @Jindypops yep

  • i no liky this

  • that one guy who dislikes this video, is probably Jack Valentine himself :P

  • i think that yuri hates the fact that hes getting away with it, i mean cuz jack is so sure he got him

  • and all that is true... how many did usa make money on war by atacking iraq....

  • @numerocro I think somebody said that all of the permanent members of the security counsil of the UN, are also the biggest weapon distrubers in the world.

  • @Ko252 well yea but realy not much is you looking in % ...america is number one in world by factoring and selling weapon ( white and black market, legal and ilegal )....

  • @numerocro Yes, and America is one of the permanent members in the security council of the UN. That is quite ironic.

  • @Ko252 well, wonderful world :)

  • This scene made the movie for me all in all

  • Blue Circle Cement (a brit company) supplied the Germans in WW1 to build their massive defences on the Somme. This resulted in thousands of Allied soldiers losing their lives in taking these positions. Lords of War then as in the now. Despicable creatures

  • this movie has a very cool, artistic and actual screenplay :)

  • The worst part is, that this is based on a true story.

  • Nicolas Cage as an action hero? Stupid.

Nicolas Cage as a business man? Scary as hell.

  • probably this is the way it is done and governments have lots of skeletons in their closets and even those not yet born will be victims

  • I don't know who won that argument, nicolas cage or ethan hawke? But jesus christ that one scene is fucking epic.

  • too bad he doesnt play in those kind of movies ( kickass, sorceres apprentice, wtf??)

  • His wife took his son, ran from him, told the authorities his "job"...

    What a whore...

  • HAHAHA 'I like you Jack ... Well maybe not' XD

  • AHAHAHA goes to read the paper, turns to sports section. "ohh they lost" turns to read full story AHAHAHA

  • This is what I call a great scene. Really good acting. Honor to Ethan Hawke.

  • For all the shit Nick Cage gets, this scene is evidence of his pure acting talent. Hawke is as well, in fact I think he is under-appreciated. EXCELLENT scene.

  • The look on Hawke's face after Cage delivers his last line is truly astounding. What a great piece of acting. Guess whats going on the netflix list!?!?!

  • What he said is true. The superpowers of the world do business with the most evil, vile scumbags of this world and Yuri sells to the enemies of our enemies and while he's an arms dealer, he's nothing compared to the U.S. president and the world powers.

  • is it just we or dose jack's eyes swell up like he is going to cry when he hears the knock on the door

  • see me in the feat

  • One of the greatest scenes in a movie....EVER!!!

  • one of the most underrated movies of all time...it's so true, it's so reality

  • Jack Valentine quitted his job afterwards...

  • i cant belive this movies definetly the best movie ever...

  • this movie is definately one of the top 5 new movies along with Kick-Ass and INception!

  • Comment removed

  • remember the first meeting of Yuri and President Baptiste...

    [BANG!!!]

    "Why'd you do that?!!!"

(Gun points to Yuri) - "What did you say?"

"Well now you're gonna have to buy it, it's a used gun."

    Baptiste -

"There is no discipline with the youth today, I try to set an example... Personally, I blame MTV."

  • The saddest part of this scene is that cage is actually telling the truth, "a necessary evil"....

  • this is by far the best movie and acting of nicolas cage in his whole movie history... thumbsup

  • @Kaulnapf

are you saying he acted better in this than in valley girls :)

  • "I would tell you to go to hell, but I think you're already there."

  • awesome dialogue. i enjoyed this part so much

  • Great scene & great movie. Closer to the truth than most people are aware

  • let me tell you whats gonna happen.........best scene ever

  • yep korn this is total classic scene

  • This is my favorite scene EVER!

  • this movie rocks it kicked azz!!!!

  • so you can rent the whole movie, but it does'nt say how much

  • Just came up with the response "I'd tell you to go to hell, but it seems your already there comment".

If someone ever says that to you, just respond "I may be in Hell. But that doesn't mean I won't drag other people down with me."

  • "I am the necessary evil", makes me think of Fredrick Nietzsche to fight evil, one should become a bigger evil themselves in "Beyond Good and Evil".

  • Best movie point blank period

  • @MrDavidbobo25

is face/off a gun running movie similar to this? ha probably not but man this movie has me hooked on gun movies now XD

  • This is his best movie ever. And This is my fav scene of it :D. <3 Nick cage for this movie - The role suits him perfectly. His brother, Is retarded but I guess he to fit :P.

  • 4:42 poor valentine...

  • I thought Ethan Hawke was going to cry at 4:40.

  • favorite scene of the movie<333

  • King Kong ain't got shit on him. lol.

  • That knock on the door said enough

  • I'm not a big fan of Cage as I think he over acts and often bulldozes through his movies

BUT this is a great film and he played this role perfectly.

    Good script and story too.

  • National Treasure was good. Not a very serious movie, of course, but still not bad.

  • great film as a face-smash for everyone who thought war is always about pushing buttons..

  • Ahh All is fair in Love and War.

  • ethan is so fine in this movie

  • Wow... i mean wow. it's almost beatifull the way that just went down. And how much you wana bet, that's same scenario is happining all over th eworld right now. The bad guys roam free while pety theaves serv there scentinces. Im almost apouled at our lack of moral controal in the world.....yet. it is just as he said. A nessisity. but it dosent mean we should stop trying.

  • word, i wished he wouldve mentioned blackwater. and other mercenaries, warlords.....hell, religion is far worse than weapon dealing, religion killed far more, shit way more people than guns and weapons dealing.

you tell em yuri. but seriously in todays world, the us is busting victor bouts balls, i think he may actually go to jail. but shits still going to go on. and someone else took his job.

  • Religion never killed anyone, man did.

  • @doom032 Yes man did in the name of religion. Anyone that didn't agree would be burned on the cross, it's not the fault of old fairy tales but I think we'd be better off not having those tales at all since they've been used for so much evil. There is nothing good in religion that a normal person can't deduce for himself anyway, no greater wisdoms, no moral that isn't intuative anyway.

  • @ororomunroe1960 do or do not, there is no try

  • this and face/off are his best roles

  • Nick is a biultiul men, he is te bast man in tree word

  • Best Nic Cage film

  • Nicolas Cage is very convincing in this role. Much more than I can say for some of his other films.

  • Agree.

He is plays such a good actor in this movie.

  • @kevinrocks2323 Sure hes done bad movies, all good actors have. But he has also done

    World Trade Center

    The Weather Man

    Lord of War

    Matchstick Men

    Adaptation

    Bringing Out the Dead

    Leaving Las Vegas

And probably a few other good movies I haven't seen.

  • Don't forget

    Raising Arizona and Valley Girl

  • Nicolas Cage is an excellent actor, but he's going down the hill for some time now playing in some really crapy movies... :/

  • @kevinrocks2323 WORD

  • @kevinrocks2323 "we have to steal the declaration of independence...derp!"

  • @kevinrocks2323 Your have an amazing talent for understatement

  • @kevinrocks2323 yea we need to see more movies when Nicholas Cage make million and millions of other suffering... because I like is ''I don't give a shit'' look in his eyes

  • One of the best scenes filmed ever in a movie since movie history ...

  • @kornway86 You clearly haven't seen a lot of movies than.

  • @McNugget06 - true :)

  • @kornway86 true story

  • @kornway86 check out movie Blow (2001 Johnny depp ) now that myt beat this movie

  • @kornway86 damm right..

  • @kornway86 AND ITS TRUE... every single thing about this movie.. is how it works in the real world..

USA SHIP more weapons and create more terrorism than all the EVIL arab terrorists have done put together..through their whole life..

  • @taregass hurr durrr evil america is evil hurr america is satan durrr arabs are kewl

  • @Kapov Im not American but i don't think Americans are evil. Some Americans are pritty evil but so are people from my country (the UK)

  • @Daleksaresupreme1

I'm American and I'm pretty evil.

  • @philisacoolguy nice to meet you Mr president

  • "I would tell you to go to hell, but I think you're already there"

That was a good comeback from Jack Valentine. You can tell Uri felt that statement.

  • Another Slap on the face of pakistani pigs who are trying there best to spread propaganda about India's envolvement giving weapons to TTP.

  • he should be a loyer he would do good xD

  • Happens all the time....

  • This scene is just priceless..

    Just watched the movie again.

    Epic.

    One of my favourites.

  • very nice!

i wanna watch the movie again!

  • whatever he said it's true i mean superpowers do business with psychopaths of this world

  • true,true.

and thats the reason why the movie is balanced on an true story.
