It pissed a lot of bands off who wanted to play live but as it was pretty much the only mainstream tv promotion available some bands took the piss. Robert Smith of the Cure often played with all his guitar strings extremely loose!

The guitarist also played the solo on "What I Am" by Edie Brickell - it has to be one of the all time top ten solos of all time. Its great to see Robbie Blunt here playing this song. Much of the online guitar tablature has this song being played in several different neck positions. Even though Top of the Pops is so obviously lip-synched (the guitar isn't even plugged in) its the only video I've seen of Robbie playing this song.

It's nice to be able to see how the actual guitarist plays the song. The tab I found for this has quite a few errors/changes in fingering and position. Sounds similar though. I think the album version is best. I don't like the solos on the live version as much.
