  • reading some of the comments of ppl here,it is quiet obvious to me that some ppl are for the reps and some are for the dems,by the end of the day neither the reps nor the dems have any intention to pay back the dept,so we can get on our own feet again, all they want is stay in power and hand out a bone to either side once a while to keep the masses in line, what is needed is thermlimits, balanced budged amentment and a cap on spending/entitlements or else we become the USS(ocialist)A

  • @theDeckisStacked How can I be mistaken the facts remain that democrats were in-control of congress in both instances. and it is congress who ultimately determine the budget! Reagan yes cut taxes and consequentially created 20 million jobs and grew the economy and took unemployment from well over 10% to below 7% in his first term and below 5% in his second term. and the democrats refused to cut spending to reduce the deficit. which is why the debt grew!

  • What kind of ceiling keeps raising every other year? No ceiling at all.

    Either America becomes the responsible author of its fiscal, economic and monetary policy, or China will.

    Unfortunately, we have to deal with the backwards and profoundly anti-American third world-like Marxist totalitarian ideology of the Left, which promotes government and state power over the rest of society, sacrificing a vibrant private sector, freedom of religion and everything else to the altar of big government.

  • Clinton had a 10 year plan to pay off our debt and he cut spending so much we had a $1.2 billion surplus. Bush didn't like that nonsense tho. Bush gave tax cuts to his rich buddies and blew our money fighting a stupid war against no one

  • @theDeckisStacked the democrats are & have always been responsible for the debt, The fact is that democrats controlled congress from 2006 to 2010 it was dems who wrote and passed the budget. it was also dems who controlled congress when Reagan was in office. & prevented a vast number of cuts proposed by Reagan.it was Reagan policy's that kept unemployment low though Clinton's administration that and the fact the Clinton cut military spending, passed welfare reform, & reduced capital gains tax.

  • @ABGAN100 Clinton reduced capital gains tax??? Really? He had it at 45%. Bush reduced it to 15%

  • @woodgrain816 In 1997, the Republican-led Congress passed a tax-relief and deficit-reduction bill that was resisted but ultimately signed by President Clinton. The 1997 bill: Lowered the top capital gains tax rate from 28 percent to 20 percent;

  • @woodgrain816 and It wasn't till after democrats took control of both houses of congress in 2006 that the economy and unemployment began to tank. it wasn't till 2008 that unemployment went above 5%

  • how about we legalize marijuana that will pay for the debt

  • @brownstuff42

    It wouldn't be enough, sorry to burst your bubble.

  • @brownstuff42 $65 trillion in profits worth of marijuana? That's a lot of highs... what a bout the lung cancers, the accidents and the low productivity that a population high on drugs would lead to? This would be reminescent of the Chinese being high on British-sold opium which lead to the Boxers war, and a subservient and disfunctional China.

    Funny how, all of a sudden, legalizing marijuana is the saint graal to all of civilization's woes.

    Your hippie nonsense is not helpful... at all.

  • @USA4July1776 but no one has the right to tell you what you can or can't put in your body, opium is quite a bit different from marijuana and really you think everyone today is as smart as a chinese farmer in those days? before the time of the internet you were only as smart as the people around you.. now a days we can actually educate people on its benefits and its cons. where are these cases of lung cancer you speak of. mean while cigarettes and alcohol are killing people left and right

  • @USA4July1776 also i am no hippie, i work 40+ hours a week and pay my bills i played football for 9 years and have a pretty messed up shoulder from countless hours and days busting my ass on a hot summer days. even after 2 surgeries i still get bad pain which i smoke to help ease it since i really do not wanna get on pain killers.

  • if people are unproductive its because they themselves are lazy and have no will power. i can tell tho that this is pointless talk since you are obviously a bitter person. Dont insult someone because of their opinion on something such as this.

  • @brownstuff42 If a population is high, they will not be as productive as they would otherwise be. I am pointing out a common sensical point and facts about history, so all your "your obviously a bitter person" prejudiced personal attack, again, is not helpful... at all... and doesn't help to bolster your credibility.
