  • WINTER SOLDIER

Brave winter soldier fighting in the storm

thought of his distant home so warm,

with couches, beds, dry clothes, TV,

and the choice to lie late sleepily,

on mornings slow, with coffee hot,

as he decided what to do or not,

his family wishing from far away

to see him come home safe some day.

  • Now he put those thoughts of home aside

as he walked his noble soldier's stride.

    The wind blew ice into his face;

the cold chilled his body in every place.

His feet now felt like icy blocks

as he struggled to stay upright and walk.

Bullets shrieked through the windy sky.

He wondered if this would be the day he'd die.

  • He lifted his gun as enemy fire

took the heat of his fears a little higher.

He shot at the shooter, knocked him down,

as the last of that life spilled over the ground.

Just another day in this freezing war,

warmed by the cause he was fighting for.

The soldier endures to see the sun

of the morning, bright, when this war is won.

  • Why is she dressed as a man?

  • I'm sure she deserve her position. But do you really need a 4 star to head up logistics. I think they could get the job done with a 2 star general. I know it is all about the numbers you have command over, but in the Navy a supply officer is in a different category then a line officer..

  • your world is going to hell. the purpose of woman is to deliver life, not take, even pretend to. and don't say it's 'peacekeeping'

  • @sandercohen1 Every soldier has to shoot in basic training

  • @sandercohen1 sure she has shot. anyone going through any sort of basic or officer course has to. she also has a master parachutist badge, so shes got a lot of jumps under her belt. give her some credit for what shes done before you judge her for what you assume

  • @trevyn41 I'll give her credit but why does the Army have this lady getting master para badges in the first place? Should not the training serve a purpose other then to say I have another badge to put on a uniform. because I hung out with paratroopers for awhile? I mean you see some of these supply types with all these ribbons who spend their entire career behind a desk. Whats the point? It's like a submariner getting a surface warfare pin.

  • @SuperBigblue19 I say give them courses that are need for their MOS/MOC. if you do a jump course either be an infantry jump company or member of the airborne. Here in Canada we don't have Airborne any longer just 3 jump companies in the 3 Infantry battalions. But if you are an Army Cadet (which unless you go officer and are commissioned in the Reserves) you are a civilian in an organization that teaches you about the military yet they can do a jump course and get jump wings. I have no idea why.

  • @SuperBigblue19 the only Reservists I know that can do a jump course and wear the jump wings is one Regiment in Ontario that can do a path finder course s I have know idea why Army Cadets should get to wear jump wings.

  • @NovaScotiaNewfie My PsyOp Reserve Company are on jump status. Lots of PsyOp and CA are.

  • Not to be sexist, but all she is going to be good is for the media.

  • Shes in the 82nd airborne, How much you wanna be shes never made a jump?

  • She's an officer. She never personally killed anyone in her life. She uses enlisted soldiers to kill her enemies at the expense of the soldiers themselves. They die getting the mission done and she gets promoted. Makes me sick.

  • That's the military in general.

  • @Piscivorus People like you are so fucking ignorant and down right retarded. You REALLY think officers don't kill people???

  • @Piscivorus there are so many things wrong with this statement...

    1) Officers kill and get killed. In Iraq, army LTs have had a higher chance of being killed in combat than any other rank

    2) Enlisted soldiers are trained to fight. Officers are responsible for leadership

    3) She probably hasnt had many casualties under her command because she is non-combat arms anyway

    4) She probably hasnt killed anyone in her life, and even if she did, its not much to be proud of

  • @trevyn41 she went through boot-camp(like every other officer)before they can even go to the academies so they are all trained to kill. and yea she probably hasn't seen much combat or killed someone, but there must be something the government likes because she is a general lol.

  • Where's her military bearing?

  • This announcer is way gay.

Way to go army! Once again you made a joke of the U.S. military.
