  • That's a powerful-looking storm system, for sure --

  • @88edwardo It turned out to be the strongest storm of the summer in this area.

  • why have there been so many tornados around here lately???

  • @Beggin4hagaN The high volume of snow from the La Nina event left an exceptionally large amount of moisture which feeds the storms. When the temperatures start to get hot at ground level, and if the upper levels of the atmosphere are significantly colder then with the excess moisture there's a recipe for storms. Other factors are involved, but those are the big ones.

  • Geez that is insane, I was under the front edge about this time, fleeing.

After watching this, it's hard to think the damage west of Bowden and Innisfail was from anything but a tornado.

    Great vid

  • @AlbertaFoothillsWx The rotation is pretty clear, but I haven't heard any assessments yet of the damage to the structures for an estimate of the strength.

  • Scary stuff...

  • @MrReggub Absolutely!

  • @GeoffJennyOliver Thanks! Kinda scary when it's headed right towards where you live though. :)
