something else those trying to defend France's actual military contributions never cite is what the gagglefuck the French commander and Gen Lincoln made out of Charleston. That was the first time French land forces fought in big numbers and it lead nowhere.
Yorktown wasnt as important as the naval battle at the Chesappeake.
The defeat of the royal navy is what was so strategic later on...thats what sped up the end of the war.
